Stop the Legalism!
By Pieter Kirstein
I see a major problem amongst many believers in that they are too hard on themselves because they are struggling with imperfections,
weaknesses, shortcomings, faults through anger, brokenness, lustful craving and desires, sinful habits and this causes attacks of guilt, accusations, condemnation, self loathing, self rejection and even self hatred.
You need to understand that the moment that you start to become patient, kind, gentle, loving, understanding, forgiving, gracious and merciful towards yourself beloved child of God, then you will begin to understand the heart of the Father.
He knew exactly what He got himself into when He got you in the first place.
He sees you as beautiful.
Because He looks at you through the eyes of unconditional love. He loves you because it's His nature to love. He does not love you with expectancy because love is who and what God is.
He demonstrated His love and desire to have you on the cross, even when you were His enemy.
God sees us as beautiful because all of our brokenness, all of our pain, all of our deepest struggles
and failures and imperfections and weaknesses and brokenness is an opportunity for Him to intervene on your behalf, precious one.
If we could heal, deliver, change and set ourselves free then we wouldn't
need God now would we?
WE ARE NOT SELF SUFFICIENT, WE NEED HIM TO SHOW UP THROUGH HIS ALL-SUFFICIENCY IN OUR NOTHINGNESS. THAT'S WHAT IT MEANS TO BE POOR IN SPIRIT.
Never forget that we are all in a process of SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT, TRANSFORMATION AND SUPERNATURAL GROWTH BEING WROUGHT INTO US BY THE ALL POWERFUL HAND OF GOD BECAUSE WE ARE HIS WORKMANSHIP.
all stumble towards perfection. It's not an overnight quick fix. We are called to overcome and we all grow through different seasons, so learn to be patient with yourself and with God and be always quick to forgive yourself and others.
This is why we see 1 Thessalonians 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Faithful is He that calls you, who also will do it.
Your responsibility is to ask Him to continue to draw you through the power of His SUPERNATURAL LOVE.
John 6:44 No man can come to Me, except the Father who has sent Me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
65 And He said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto Me,
except it were given unto him of My Father.
IT'S GOD'S JOB TO CHANGE YOU AND IT'S YOUR JOB TO TRUST HIM TO COMPLETE WHAT HE STARTED.
Ask Him to discipline
and crucify your flesh because it's like a relentless stubborn old mule that can only be subdued by Him.
THIS IS A SPIRITUAL WAR AND A SUPERNATURAL WALK AND RELATIONSHIP WITH A SUPERNATURAL GOD AND ONLY
HE CAN EMPOWER US TO SUCCEED.
This is the meaning of Philippians 2:13 For it is God who works in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.
Him to put His zeal and fire in you to pursue Him in the power and ability of His Spirit because the flesh is weak. It takes time to grow up in the Lord child of God and it takes time to grow in SPIRITUAL STRENGTH.
It's not about measuring up. It's about growing up. We are not in religious performance. We are undergoing graceful transformation by the hand of God as He works the required change into us.
1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.
Learn to flow with God through the different stages and seasons of your spiritual
journey and don't seek fruits out of season. He makes all things beautiful in it's time.
Father said to me many years ago "it's time that you see Me as a Father that loves you. A God who's grace is upon
your life. Not a God that looks to see every time that you make a mistake. I'm the God who created man and I understand the weaknesses inside of you, but as you continue to confess and acknowledge those weaknesses, I will give you the ability to grow out of
them. Stop focusing on your faults and simply keep your focus on Me and all these things will drop to the ground like dead leafs when their time comes"
There is a time and a season of breakthrough in the
life of every developing believer who lives their lives in constant pursuit of God through radical intimate personal relationship as He brings us into the fruitfulness and maturity of the life of Christ.
fruits of the Spirit is the life of Christ manifested when the born-again seed has been brought into maturity.
A child can only be to where they have grown.
Philippians 3:16 Nevertheless, to what we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.
