Remember

By Kim Potter

Remember the mighty acts God has done for you!  Doesn't that cause faith to arise in you?

This morning I received an email from a partner.  In it she shared an audio clip with me from a DJ in Atlanta.  He was talking about when you find yourself in the midst of a challenge.  When you are crying out to God in the middle of the night, with tears streaming down your face, saying 'when God when?'

He went on to say that during those times...remember...remember what God has already done.

I was immediately taken back to a time a couple weeks ago.  I was driving to work, talking to God, saying 'God, I have prayed about this for a long time, do I continue to stand or do I let it go?'

God replied to the cries of my heart and said 'REMEMBER!'

As He spoke those words, it was as if a movie began playing in my mind.  He took me back to a few places of remembrance.  He took me to the time that my daughter was in labor with Bryson and her heart stopped.  And He said 'remember, how I raised her up.'

He took me to the time I was bitten by a brown recluse spider, as it rolled down my leg, from my spirit, I began to sing 'no weapon formed against me shall prosper.'  He caused me to remember that even though medically I was told I would lose my leg, I did not lose my leg.  One night, when the pain was beyond what I felt I could bear, when the fever was so hot I couldn't touch my leg, He led me to take communion.  The next morning when I awoke, all evidence of the bite was gone.  He caused me to remember how He healed me that night.

He took me to the most challenging seasons I have ever walked through emotionally.  He took me to the days the enemy would pound my thoughts and emotions and tell me I would never make it through...but MY GOD REMINDED ME how He brought me through.

He said to me that morning 'remember, the mighty acts I have done for YOU.'  As I sat remembering those times, my faith soared and I knew God would complete what He had begun.  I knew I would not let go of any one thing.  Praise be to the Lord!

Psalm 105:5-6 says; Remember His marvelous works which He has done, His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth, o seed of Abraham His servant, you children of Jacob, His chosen ones!

Psalm 77:11 says; I will remember the works of the Lord; Surely, I will remember Your wonders of old.

Psalm 78:4 in the Amplified says; We will not hide them from their children, but we will tell the generation to come the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, and tell of His great might and power and the wonderful works that He has done.

All throughout the Bible God instructed His people to tell their children of His mighty acts.  He did this for a purpose.  It reminded them of who God was and what He did on their behalf.  I am living proof that if you take the time to remember, your faith will arise and you will be able to stand firm in the midst of battle.  Just remember.  Remember His mighty acts on YOUR behalf.

Don't rehearse the things that have gone wrong in your life.  Rehearse His goodness and rehearse what He has done for you.  Rehearse His mighty acts and let your faith arise!

Prayer for today:  Father, I thank you for all the things you have done for me and my family.  I acknowledge your goodness in my life.  I see your mighty hand and all it has done on my behalf and I will tell the world of your goodness to me.  I bless you God, I honor you and I love you with all my heart and soul.  In Jesus name.  Amen.
