The Garden of Gethsemane: A Preparation for One’s Death!
By Geraldine Fisher
The word Crucifixion means the killing,
binding, (humbling) denying of flesh, and the nailing of your flesh to the cross of Christ!
This was a type of capital punishment for a crime committed by an offender but we know that Christ was found innocent of his crimes (He did nothing
to deserve punishment) yet he suffered the fate of a common criminal on the cross by HIS accusers!
In fact, during his time in the Garden He was “exceedingly sorrowful unto death,” but God sent an angel from heaven to strengthen
Him, (Luke 22:43).
I believe at that moment Jesus discerned that He was about to go through a fate that HIS flesh did not want to endure!
He wanted His Father if it was at all possible to remove this cup from Him!
The LORD is speaking in this hour and He is preparing his people for the crucifixion of the flesh and the dying to YOUR own vision and YOUR DREAMS OF WHAT YOU THINK YOU SHOULD DO OR BE!
Jesus was the perfect example of
this when He entered the Garden!
He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, “O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done,” (Matthew 26:42 KJV).
He prayed so hard and desired that others would watch and pray with him during this time of spiritual agony within his soul!
The scriptures say that He was in so much agony, Ge prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great
drops of blood falling down to the ground, (Luke 22:44).
He did not want to face what was about to come upon Him for the hour and His flesh was weak, tired, but He knew it was NO way out of what God was about to place upon Him!
Many times we try to find a way out of our suffering as Jesus did but their is no way out whatsoever!
Every door blocked and every opening closed! Jesus went to the disciples seeking comfort and help to watch
and to pray with him but he found no comfort from them at all.
In fact they fail a sleep on him agonizing him the more to ask them, “Can you not watch and pray with Me for just one hour?”
But what He needed
to know was that God had designed this cup specifically tailored just for Christ and the only way out was to partake of the cup and this meant Him totally surrendering to what He was about to endure!
It was then when He surrendered that
He spoke to his disciples, “and saith unto them, ‘Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners,'” (Matthew 26:45 KJV).
The LORD is
moving in the midst of His People and I feel a great crushing is coming for many as we (you) get ready for your own death, burial and your resurrection as Christ did!
Help us Holy Ghost! No oil can come until you face this crucifixion
and the next level of your elevation can not come until you allow your will to become God’s perfect Will!
You can fight it, but no babies can be birthed until you allow the labor pains to help you to push your babies out for delivery!
Had Jesus fought this process many would have died and no resurrection would have taken place for the nation!
Your death is tied to somebody’s deliverance and they are depending upon you to go through the crucifixion.
So many are getting off the birthing table to soon causing your babies to become still born!
Jesus willingly gave His own life in order that the will of the Father could be done!
Was HE PERFECT AS
A MAN SENT FROM GOD? No! His flesh fought the process and He did not want to die, but He prayed until His flesh surrendered the same as you and I must do!
He knew was to come and this is why He prayed so hard to overcome
His own internal struggles to surrender to the perfect will of God!
The LORD wants His People to know that when we fight our own Garden of Gethsemane we cause friction and more frustration in our lives (the lives of others) that could
have been avoided had we willingly surrendered!
Jesus took Peter with Him and the other disciples and because they failed to pray, they was not ready for the warfare He was about to face, leaving Him to deal with the aftermath of what
was to come; as well as those who did not pray!
