Retaliation is the fruit of entitlement and bitterness.
A deeply rooted pride of
self formed rights. It’s a seething, always simmering right below the surface behavior that silently finds ways to justify and punish when the emotionally and spiritually immature individual loses a form of control or loss of attention on demand.
Jesus didn’t retaliate….
…. He was shamed, talked about, ridiculed, blamed, abandoned…
when He needed love and kindness the most.
… He endured the cross, so that in hope, those whom He would save, would never retaliate.
“Not returning evil for evil or retaliation for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that
you might, in humility inherit a blessing,” 1 Peter 3:9.
