"As Breakthrough Arrives - Boldly Build!"

By Joey LeTourneau

"...On this rock I will build My Church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it." (Matthew 16:18)

There has been tumultuous preparation and ground-taking many have been through in this past season or seasons even. There is a certain mindset that is cultivated to persevere through the challenges and to keep moving forward by faith. At the same time, the flip side of that experience can bring a form of fear, of being "snake-bit," or the feeling that when breakthrough does arrive, you need to be more careful than ever to avoid returning to the pressures you fought through in past seasons.

Your resistance this past season has not only fended off the onslaught of the enemy from overtaking you, it has taken new ground, pressing through the enemy's lines with the bloodline of Jesus that is on your life. And now that you've broken through, it's time to boldly build!

"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." (1 Timothy 1:7)

We must be ready to build by faith with Him as breakthrough arrives as if none of the hardship, none of that lack we've experienced ever existed. We must not surf the wave of breakthrough as if to protect ourselves, our board, or with fear of losing the wave that finally arrived. Rather, we extend our faith with Him like it was the very first time as if hope deferred never, ever happened!

When breakthrough arrives, it's time to build! It's time to take that breakthrough and steward it forward with faith, resisting the timidity that would implore us to not move. Let's build with every ounce of breakthrough we receive with joyful expectancy that the God of the universe is backing us.

A Time to Live Like "One Who Has”

"'[I] was afraid and went and hid your talent in the ground'...But his lord answered and said to him, 'You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed...For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance...'" (Matthew 25:25-26, 29)

This is a time to live like "one who has." This is a time to use what we've been given to build with Him and to let our faith in our Lord's goodness continue to multiply it, even when we do not yet know how.

The world tries to get into our faith and change how we steward what God has given us. This is very evident in the parable of the talents. The first two servants both increased their talents, while the third buried theirs because of fear of losing the little they had. The world would have us call that kind of fear "wisdom." But in the Kingdom, stewardship is much less about protecting and much more about multiplying, building, and growing. The "Master" seemed far less worried about the amount of talents each one had than he was about "how" their faith or fear guided that amount. More was waiting, and that "more" was not tied to an amount, it was tethered to the abundance of their faith.

Now isn't a time to be timid, but bold. Your time of breakthrough isn't a one-time occurrence that you need to protect, but a heavenly storehouse of grace from which to build and go forward with. Those who are called in such a way haven't been preparing all this time for nothing. No, you are builders who will now watch God build through you, amid the resistance you have fought. You have been prepared to be a faith-FULL, wise and bold builder with Him.

By Grace, Through Faith: Keep Moving Forward

"And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities that the power of Christ may rest upon me." (2 Corinthians 12:9)

We are called to live by grace, through faith. This obviously isn't a grace to be taken advantage of, but it's a currency of Heaven by which we move forward on, which we place our faith that Jesus Himself is backing us. We live not by what we have in our hands, but according to who He is.

In the Garden of Eden before the fall, Adam and Eve were given the promise of endless, eternal paradise. There was only one condition: they had to receive that paradise from the Father one day at a time. Instead, they chose knowledge, security and understanding. Essentially they chose to have control over tomorrow. We must remember this for the season we are in today. We must let go of control over tomorrow so we can receive His paradise for today.

When my family and I lived in Ethiopia, we had a fast growing movement of young leaders, street kids and shelters, etc. We rarely had more than enough for that day. We rarely knew where tomorrow's grace would come from. We had to take what was in our hands to build "today" knowing that such building wouldn't take away from our personal needs for tomorrow. We had to keep playing offense, spending our faith through what we had, moving forward and building on the ground God was taking through us; all the while trusting that God would always be our “defense."

The Bible is FULL of promises of God playing defense on our behalf, and equally full of moments commissioning His kids to stay on offense, to "go" to "build" to "give" and keep moving forward.

As breakthrough came, we couldn't manage it. We had to build with it, give it, use it and trust God's MANY WAYS of seeing it multiplied. This kind of multiplication isn't merely multiplying the funding or resource itself, we mustn't measure in such linear ways. It is multiplying God's grace through our lives, and money is only one form of the Father's resources. We simply need to listen, obey, let go of the seed and trust. We need to buy the next board and nail and put that day's wall in place, knowing that today's grace used, given or spent, will play a key role in unlocking the fullness of God's grace for tomorrow.

There has been such an extended wait for breakthrough that it is vital we renew our minds and strengthen our hearts to keep a forward-moving faith with Him. We must keep striking the ground and not stop short of the many more and bigger breakthroughs that our current breakthrough will unlock—for others and ourselves.

Keep moving forward, keep boldly building, and may your faith be big enough to receive and walk in all God has made available for TODAY!

God is obviously not finished with us, so we must draw close to the Lord and ask. Give Him all your burdens beloved. Give Him your loneliness & draw close.
