FIRE BY NIGHT
By Glenn H. Jackson
"Reflections Upon Reflections"
[of The Father's Heart]
...."You, in Your great compassion, did not forsake them in the wilderness; The pillar of cloud did not leave them by day, to guide them on their way, or the pillar
of fire by night, to light for them the way in which they were to go".... Nehemiah 9:19 NASB
GUARDING ONE'S HEART WITH "ALL DILIGENCE"
Words of prophecy:
* Guarding one's heart with "all diligence" is a twenty-four hour a day job!
...."My son/daughter, give attention to my words; Incline your
ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your sight; Keep them in the midst of your heart. For they are life to those who find them And health to all their body. Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it [flow] the springs of life [Love,
Truth, Righteousness and Wisdom]".... Proverbs 4:20-23 NASB
...."Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God".... Colossians 3:1-3 NASB
Guarding one's heart with ALL diligence
is a practice that is of the utmost importance, and it will surely bear much fruit in one's life - not to mention protect them from the Enemy's attempt to influence them in a "negative" way. It can be easy for one to be drawn into conformity with the ways
of the world - coming into agreement with them without even being aware of what is happening in the "heat of the moment" - if we do not keep our eyes fixed on the "things above".
In the "world"
[and the environments therein] there is always a steady [and sometimes very strong] current of unbelief, negativity, fear and darkness. Abiding in Christ - and the continual accessing of God's Grace and Wisdom by faith which is a spontaneous fruit - is the
ONLY way for one to continually "rise above" the Enemy's schemes.
...."Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all
that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever".... 1 John
Prayer of Proclamation:
Father, we thank You and praise You that You have raised us up a people who continually set ourselves to be found guarding our hearts
with ALL diligence - a practice that keeps us both sharp and alert as we walk on the narrow path of perfect obedience, day in and day out. And we declare it DONE [on an ongoing basis] in Jesus' Name - to Your greatest Glory. Amen.
