The Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation

By Robert Blackburn

The Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation… that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, give this to you.

That is what the Apostle wrote to that particular church.

We can note up front, there is no new Gospel other than what Jesus taught and those that followed Him.

Perhaps, this message should be about the “fullness” of Christ and saints, being fully grown.

I wonder where some of us would be, if God had not revealed more to us after we once received this wonderful Holy Ghost…

It won’t move many if we mention one particular ministry that God set in the church.  Those who were ordained, called of God and fully anointed, to the office of the Teacher.

Most of us of any age, can fully remember when these were allowed to do the ministry, that they were set in the church to do.

We couldn’t say we never saw that office of ministry function.  If the teacher was truly anointed of God, they taught only what the Holy Ghost was teaching them.  And it was not of men.

I can’t be crude or roughly spoken, but if we had allowed the Holy Ghost to teach us as the Word said He would do, all of us would be much more mature and learned in God’s ways.

We would definitely know more about that fullness of Christ the scripture spoke of; that thing that follows all the ministries as they were intended.

Can we honestly say that we even know what that fullness of Christ is, or how many of us have reached it?  Should we be more perfect in Him, by this time?

It’s likely that not a whole lot of things of God are revealed to those who are not hungry.

All those who solely desire to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, can testify of something.

When you study to show yourself approved unto God, almost every time you open His Book, you learn something you did not see before.

Often times, it was right there in front of you all the time and you didn’t see it.  Now suddenly it jumps out at you, because God has opened your understanding of Him.

There’s no need to be concerned about all of those folk who say they have had these great revelations.

The Spirit in us can discern, often right away, if flesh is lifting themselves up.

If such proclamations are not backed up by God’s Word, and there is no true unction from the Holy Ghost, it’s likely self.

It is tragic that so many of us backed off from the true operation of the gifts of the Spirit, because others tried to misuse them.  Grown saints, would have known what was real — discerning it.

There is Wisdom from above that is promised to all of God’s people.  And it is proven, that He will reveal things to us and show us which way to go; even on a personal basis.

There are some answers that I need from God.  And those answers often do not come from anyone but Him.

God can also speak through authentically anointed people to give a Word of Wisdom and a Word of Knowledge.

We’ve seen the real thing operate.  We need that so much today…. the Holy Ghost knows.

We have been promised that the more we seek Him, the more we know Him.

You know, it’s not so hard to desire to follow the leading of the Holy Ghost when everything else has failed.

Today, we can see everywhere, what results when men are determined to follow their own wisdom, their own way.

The church has not matured as it was ordained to be…. the depth that was once known by many, has eroded.

Holy Ghost, show me the way you want me to move.  Reveal to me, the way I must go.  Let me see it and understand it.

God is obviously not finished with us, so we must draw close to the Lord and ask. Give Him all your burdens beloved. Give Him your loneliness & draw close.
