 "Reflections Upon Reflections" [of The Father's Heart]

         ...."You, in Your great compassion, did not forsake them in the wilderness; The pillar of cloud did not leave them by day, to guide them on their way, or the pillar of fire by night, to light for them the way in which they were to go".... Nehemiah 9:19 NASB

                              A "SHADOW" IS SATAN'S SMOKESCREEN

Words of prophecy:

*       In reality, a "shadow" [a "smokescreen" put up by the Enemy] has no substance in itself [for ALL that he says and does has its source in a "lower reality"] BUT it can be "given" substance [empowerment] by one "adhering" to the lying words and thoughts of the Enemy [through fear] rather than Truth [My Word] - which is the highest form of Reality that exists.

"shadow" - a dark figure or image cast on the ground or some surface by a body  "intercepting light" ; something without reality or substance;

        ...."Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to [enters into the Will of] the Father but through Me".... John 14:6 NASB

        ...."If you continue in My word, [then] you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know [gain a revelation of] the truth, and the truth [that abiding revelation] will make [and keep] you free".... John 8:31-32 NASB

        ...."The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows. Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever".... Psalms 23:1-6 NASB

        ...."We consider and look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen; for the things that are visible are temporal (brief and fleeting) [shadows], but the things that are invisible are deathless and everlasting".... 2 Corinthians 4:18 The Amplified Translation

"Distract" - to draw away or divert, as the mind or attention; to divide or confuse the attention of (a person); to disturb or trouble greatly in mind; beset; to provide a pleasant diversion for; amuse; entertain; to separate or divide by dissension or strife.

Latin: "distractus" - perplexed; from "distrahere" - to pull in different directions; to draw apart;

Synonyms: bewilder, agitate, pain, torment, distress;

        A "shadow" is Satan's "smokescreen", and his tactic is to intercept [through "distraction"] the Light coming from the Word of God before it can reach one's heart and soul [mind, will, emotions] - thereby casting a dark image [shadow] on their "thoughts" in order to continue to control them, through fear. BUT, when the Word of God "gains entrance" into one's spirit and, ultimately, their mind is renewed to it, THEN they become "dangerous" to the Enemy's operation - and that one will never be defeated again in that "area of revelation" now abiding [dwelling permanently] in their heart.

        Satan knows that when one has a revelation of God's Word "burning actively" in their heart and continually influencing their mind [and, therefore, continually on their lips - for out of the "abundance" in one's heart the mouth speaks] he is "helpless" [defenseless] - so, again, his primary objective is to NOT "allow" the light coming from the Word enter into one's heart and mind.

        His chief then is to attempt to stand "between" the believer and the Word of God [in some way] in order to "cast a shadow" over their mind - a shadow that will cause their thoughts to be "darkened" [through vain imaginations, wrong thinking etc.] and, thus, cause fear to rise up in their heart rather than the faith of God. When one is IN fear it is the CERTAIN result of Satan and his forces coming between them and the Word.

        A great man of God once said: "Always remember, the "shadow" of a dog never bit anyone".

        In light of all of these things, it is of the utmost importance that every child of God come to a deep revelation of the spiritual reality that "shadows" [lies, wiles, deceptions etc.] cannot hurt them - and CANNOT REMAIN when their focus is directly "fixed upon" the light [revelation] of God's Word.

        ...."And he [Jesus] said, Come [the Word of God] then Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous [which was the shadow], he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased".... Matthew 14:29-32 KJV

        ...."The entrance of thy words giveth light".... Psalm 119:130 KJV

        ...."Listen to this! Behold, the sower went out to sow; as he was sowing, some seed fell beside the road, and the birds came and ate it up. Mark 4:3-4 NASB

        ...."And He [Jesus] said to them, "Do you not understand this parable? How will you understand all the parables? "The sower sows the word. "These are the ones who are beside the road where the word is sown; and when they hear, immediately Satan comes and takes away the word, which has been sown in them. "In a similar way these are the ones on whom seed was sown on the rocky places, who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with joy; and they have no firm root in themselves, but are only temporary; then, when affliction or persecution arises because of the word, immediately they fall away. "And others are the ones on whom seed was sown among the thorns; these are the ones who have heard the word, but the worries of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things enter in and choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. "And those are the ones on whom seed was sown on the good soil; and they hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold".... Mark 4:13-20 NASB

        ...."We are destroying speculations and EVERY lofty thing raised up against the true knowledge of God  [and who we ALREADY are, in Christ], and we are taking every thought captive [through proclamation] to the obedience of Christ [a revelation of the Father's Will]".... 2 Corinthians 10:5 NASB

 Prayer of Proclamation:

        Father, we thank You and praise You that You have raised us up a people of faith - a people who are NO LONGER moved   [influenced] by the "shadows" of the Enemy" [that which it "temporal"] but, rather, ONLY by the revelation of Your Word  [which is the highest form of reality that exists] that is "burning brightly" in our hearts. And we declare all of these things DONE [on an ongoing basis] in Jesus' Name - to Your greatest Glory. Amen.
