Take Godly Precautions and Security Measures

By Jacob Awagah

“See then that you walk circumspectly [carefully], not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil,”   Ephesians 5:15-16.

This commandment of Scripture is altogether literal, physical and spiritual.

Ask The LORD before you go anywhere, and do anything.

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them,”   Ephesians 2:10.

We must daily do only what He has planned for us to do.

“Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?”   1 Corinthians 6:19.

“For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself.  For if we live, we live to The LORD; and if we die, we die to The LORD.  Therefore, whether we live or die, we are The LORD’s,”   Romans 14:7-8.

Furthermore, The Word says to,

“Trust in The LORD with all your heart,  and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.  Do not be wise in your own eyes…”

“Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of The LORD is,”   (Proverbs 3:5 – 7; Ephesians 5:17).

In ALL things we must always ask our LORD Jesus Christ:

“LORD, what do You want me to do?”

“What shall I do, LORD?”   (Acts 9:6; 22:10).

We must take Godly precautions and security measures at all times, in all things in these evil days.

Brethren, it is a minefield right now.  Only The LORD knows where we should step, and where we shouldn’t, daily, nightly, always.

Saul (Paul) escaped by basket upon discovering a murder plot against his life.

“Now after many days were past, the Jews plotted to kill him.  But their plot became known to Saul.  And they watched the gates day and night, to kill him.  Then the disciples took him by night and let him down through the wall in a large basket,”   Acts 9:23-25.

In the days of His flesh, our Great God and Savior Jesus Christ Himself took many and various Godly precautions and security measures for His safety.

“Then the Pharisees went out and immediately plotted with the Herodians against Him, how they might destroy Him.

But Jesus withdrew with His disciples to the sea.  And a great multitude from Galilee followed Him, and from Judea and Jerusalem and Idumea and beyond the Jordan; and those from Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they heard how many things He was doing, came to Him.

So He told His disciples that a small boat should be kept ready for Him because of the multitude, lest they should crush Him.”   Mark 3:6-9.

“Then they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by,”   John 8:59.

Jesus Christ THE Almighty God, made Holy Spirit-led arrangements to ensure His safety!  We must likewise do, as led by The Holy Spirit.

And The LORD even says to us that, in these evil days,

“When they persecute you in this city, flee to another.  For assuredly, I say to you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes,”   Matthew 10:23.

This was exactly the case with Saul:

“And he spoke boldly in the name of The LORD Jesus and disputed against the Hellenists [Greek-speaking Jews], but they attempted to kill him.  When the brethren found out, they brought him down to Caesarea and sent him out to Tarsus,”   (Acts 9:29-30).

As in the Acts 9:23-25 account above, let us pray always that the plots of the enemy become known to us, and that The LORD deliver us from every evil work, (2 Timothy 4:18; Psalm 121:7,8; Job 10:12).

Ask The LORD about everything, for everything.  He will readily direct you.

“The LORD directs the steps of the Godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.”   Psalm 37:23 NLT.

“The LORD Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Grace be with you.  Amen.”   2 Timothy 4:22.

“Farewell”   Acts 15:29.
