I Would Like to Share My Lunch With You

By Kathy Mote

I would like to share my lunch with you, something I have never done before. I purchased lobster ravioli, and cooked it in butter, herbs and chicken broth. I grated white cheddar truffle cheese on top, another grocery store splurge. The reason I am sharing this is I was taught something as I prepared my lunch, and I was asked to share.

As I placed the ravioli in the gently rolling broth with herbs and butter in it, the Holy Spirit showed me three would be enough. But they were very small, my tummy was very empty, and my eyes were very big, so I chose to put five in. My desire for lunch was on my mind and I barely heard the Holy Spirit. With being so distracted, His voice was easy to miss.

As I ate my lovely lunch, I was perfectly filled at three. The Lord reminded me that three had been His choice, something I blew right past.

He is not bossy or pushy. He does not desire to control. He desires to bless and lead. He desires to help, and show us His wisdom, something that will alleviate waste and suffering in our life.

Many times He has shown me this, and as I listened to Him I was blessed. But today He showed something else. He desires for our hearts to be in His loving, protective hands, even in the details. He desires to be a part of every aspect in every moment of our lives. He desires to be part of every conversation. He desires to be in our midst, close enough to us that He is the very center of our desires that we may always hear Him.
