The Lord Always Does What He Says

By Kathy Mote

The Lord always does what He says, and He says what He intends to do. Before He was taken up in the Spirit, He said, I will send a comforter to you. I will send My Spirit to guide and give peace to you. He will lead you into all Truth. He will tell you of Me, and all who receive Me will receive Him. We will come and sup with you.

I have paraphrased this, but when He spoke to those who waited for Him, that was His meaning and His intention. In those days they faced brutal persecution just for being seen with someone who was a known associate of Jesus. They waited in hiding for what He promised them.

So, they waited in the upper room, cowering in fear, praying with the windows shut. They had no concept of being filled with the Holy Spirit. No one had ever heard of that. But sure enough, after a few days, the Holy Spirit blew the shutters open and filled the room with the promise of God which appeared like fire. And upon every man who waited on the Lord, Holy fire was given, and they burned. That was thousands of years ago. Yet we know of being filled today.

The Lord once asked me, So, you knew a guy who knew a guy who was related to a guy who witnessed this event? That's how you were filled? Giggling, I said, No! You gave this to me! The minute I cried out for You, that is what you gave me! You called me and I answered You, and that is how I came to be. He said, I AM always faithful to fulfill My Word. You know My Word (*first hand) as it is revealed.

As the Lord fulfills His promise in each of us, we hear Him by His Spirit. Being in Him we are like branches connected to a vine. What He promises to one, He reveals to all. I'd like to share what He means when He says He will 'sup' with us. It means to recline together, to share a meal and to speak intimately as friends, without having your guard up or holding back. Close and intimate family does that. That is how intimately He lives in us, causing us to turn our hearts to Him every minute.

What the Lord is pouring out in our day is the first hand knowledge of Him. We will know Him as He is and He will be revealed with nothing withheld. We will see Him face to face in communion so intimate that His presence in us will rock the world we live in. One on one, He will commune with those drawn into His presence. The knowledge of Him will forever change man's opinion of Him, for every eye will see Him first hand as He is revealed. As it was in the days His Spirit was poured out will be nothing to the stir He will create.
