What the Lord is Showing Me

By Kathy Mote

What the Lord is showing me, I would like to share. It seems to be another part of an ongoing revelation of where we are in His plan for all of creation. That's hard to fathom, such a big jump in perspective from where we are to knowing His thoughts on where we are.

We have always had a written account of God's dealings and interactions with us. The unverified first account of God's thoughts, judgments and actions as well as His promises was written way before the flood and saved on the ark. But reading about historical events is not at all the same as being present to see them. Experiencing them personally is 'knowing'. That's what God said. Like a caterpillar doesn't 'know' what being a butterfly is until it is fully changed.

So here's a not so fun fact that has always broken my heart. Because the children of Israel adhered to their interpretation of the written word of God, they had their own opinion of what Christ should be like. Because of this, the children of Israel rejected Jesus as the Christ. He wasn't what they expected Him to be. They formed their beliefs on the written word, imagining He should be as they thought, but He is the living Word of God. They rejected Him.

And so it is with our natural understanding of the written word. We just don't 'know' the full scope of God's promises in scripture until those promises live inside our hearts. They are fulfilled as Jesus is present to be Lord of them in us. In our natural thinking, our understanding as well as our expectations are short sided, grossly limiting us from the Truth (that He is Lord). We are so limited in our understanding that we are quite literally in the dark until the Light and Life of God is dwelling richly in us. His promise is as personal as our acceptance of Him should be.

And that is the promise we are all waiting for, that we would become the fullness of Christ, which is His work in us as we are brought together with Him. This is why He was sent. Let us not allow our limited understanding of the promise of God blind us to the Truth as so many have done before. The Jews still wait for their Messiah, leaning to their own understanding of what the scriptures actually meant. Let us embrace Him face to face, lest we disqualify ourselves in the same way.

It is Not Your Knowledge of the Bible

By Kathy Mote

It is not your knowledge of the Bible that will make God move in you. It is your surrender and your obedience that He moves so powerfully in. The point of your life is to become one with Him.

The Lord Said

By Kathy Mote

The Lord said, My Beloved will be the perfect expression of My authority as they become the perfect picture of My will. No power will come against them that I will not cast down. At no time will they be overcome. They will be fleet of foot as they carry My glory, for I have tested the heart of each one. As I move, they will move, for My Beloved and I will be as one.

God’s Word is Spoken By God

By Kathy Mote

God's Word is spoken by God, and His living Word brings Life to you. This is what He speaks to you as He brings you into His presence. Your carnal understanding of the Bible is not how you are made alive in Him. Jesus brings you to Life and being made aware of Him changes you. So many keep searching the scriptures to find answers, confident in their understanding of them, but the scriptures all tell us that Life is in Him. Jesus Christ is the living, breathing, walking, talking fulfillment of God's promise to you.

Jesus Being Lord IS the Promise of God

By Kathy Mote

Jesus being Lord IS the promise of God, and every promise God has given us is in Him. Abundant Life is His presence. In our carnal thinking, we have missed this. In the past we have treated God's word like a list of promises that we operate if we believe strongly enough. We depend on our faith to receive them when God's will is for Jesus to bring us to Him, changed into His image by receiving Him. Dare I say that we have instead desired power.

The new church has treated His presence like a seance instead of walking with Him. We have thought to bring our will before Him instead of receiving His will for us and trusting Him. We have thought of Him as a religion because we are ignorant of Him, and we have done this because we do not hear Him. We do not hear Him because we have not honored Him.

If we hope to realize the fullness of His promise of abundant, eternal Life, we should accept that this is in His presence. We must realize that He is truly LORD of us. This used to be called bowing one's knee, but I think this is a metaphor for the heart posture He desires to teach us.

In His presence, He told me to call Him Daddy, and so I did. He told me I was His child, and that He loved me. To save my life, I will never use His Word to change my circumstance without Him again. It is in His presence that I abide, and as I do, all the world around me obeys Him because He is truly LORD of it.
