FIRE BY NIGHT
By Glenn H. Jackson
"Reflections Upon Reflections" [of The Father's Heart]
...."You, in Your great compassion, did not forsake them in the wilderness; The
pillar of cloud did not leave them by day, to guide them on their way, or the pillar of fire by night, to light for them the way in which they were to go".... Nehemiah 9:19 NASB
IF ONE'S HEART IS NOT
"WHOLLY" GIVEN TO GOD THEN THERE WILL REMAIN A TENDENCY WITHIN THEM TO TAKE THE PATH OF "LEAST RESISTANCE"
Words of Prophecy
* The greatest inherent tendency of the flesh [sense-knowledge and sense perception] is
to depart from Grace whereas the greatest inherent tendency of a heart that is "wholly" given is to draw near to Me in the "inner chamber!
* Many have chosen the "way
of least resistance" in this hour [believing in their heart that they have taken a righteous path while, in reality, they have not] because they have "allowed" themselves to become "weary" in their pursuit of spiritual things - through their failure to give
Me [My Word] preeminence in ALL things. Let all those who perceive that all is not right with their walk begin to enter into the "inner chamber" [the secret place of My Presence] on a daily basis in order that they might experience a time of great refreshing
[strengthening] and restoration in preparation for their entrance onto the "true" path [Kingdom-position] I have established for them from before the foundations of the earth.
"Way of least resistance"
- the easiest, but not necessarily the best or most honourable, course of action;
"Weary"- impatient or dissatisfied with something; physically or mentally exhausted; fatigued; tired;
...."There is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death".... Proverbs 14:12 NASB
...."Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, does not faint or grow weary; there is no searching of His understanding. He gives power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no might He
increases strength [causing it to multiply and making it to abound]. [2 Cor. 12:9.] Even youths shall faint and be weary, and [selected] young men shall feebly stumble and fall exhausted; But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him]
shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired [Heb. 12:1-3]".... Isaiah 40:28-31
...."Let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax
our courage and faint".... Galatians 6:9 The Amplified Translation
....."The way of the transgressor is hard [like the barren, dry soil or the impassable swamp]"....
Proverbs 13:15b The Amplified Translation
...."Moreover [let us also be full of joy now!] let us exult and triumph in our troubles and rejoice in our sufferings,
knowing that pressure and affliction and hardship produce patient and unswerving endurance. And endurance [fortitude] develops maturity of character [approved faith and tried integrity]. And character [of this sort] produces [the habit of] joyful and confident
hope of eternal salvation. Such hope never disappoints or deludes or shames us, for God's love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit Who has been given to us".... Romans 5:3-5 The Amplified Translation
"Tendency"- a natural or prevailing disposition to move, proceed, or act in some direction or toward some point, end, or result; having a natural inclination to something;
to or derived from experience [in this case, the daily dying to self that we are called to];
If one's heart is not "wholly" given to God [and, therefore, to "HIS"
Will and highest purpose for their life and ministry]THEN there will remain a tendency within them [in times of great pressure] to take the path [through fear] of "least resistance" [the way that "seems" easier - through compromise]. It must be clearly understood
by EVERY child of God that ONLY the "experiential" [continually deeper] "work of the Cross" by the Holy Spirit [Who is the Spirit of Grace] can ever set one free [and keep them free] from the bondage of fear and pride - to enter into an "abiding" faith, love
and obedience in the Kingdom.
...."If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me".... Luke 9:23 NASB
Prayer of Proclamation:
Father, we thank You and praise You that You have raised us up a people who absolutely refuse
to take the path of "least resistance" - a people whose feet are firmly planted on the narrow path of perfect obedience. And we declare it DONE [on an ongoing basis], in the Name of Jesus - to Your greatest Glory. Amen.
...."Enter through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and spacious and broad is the way that leads away to destruction, and many are those who are entering through it. But the gate is narrow [contracted
by pressure] and the way is straitened and compressed that leads away to life, and few [relatively speaking] are those who find it [Deut. 30:19; Jer. 21:8]".... Matthew 7:13-14 The Amplified Translation
