Hearing Our Prayers
By Lyn Siewers Souter
Your Word says that where two or more are gathered in Your Name, You are in their midst (Matt 18:19). Lord, we invite You and thank You for blessing us with Your presence and hearing our prayers. Your Word says the prayers of a righteous person
are powerful and effective (James 5:16). James 4:2 says that we have not because we ask not. Eph. 3:20 encourages and challenges us to ask for big things. Your Word says that whatever we ask for in prayer, believe that we have received it and it will be ours
(Mark 11:24, John 14-15). We are trusting in Your promises, Lord. We come boldly before the throne of Grace, believing we are praying Your will with our prayers and reminding You of Your Word. Will You not bring about justice for Your chosen ones who cry out
to You day and night (Luke 18:7)?
We thank You that You are our refuge and strength, an ever present help in times of trouble (Ps. 46:1). We thank You that You are the Waymaker when there seems to be no
way (Isa. 43:15-16). We thank You that NOTHING is impossible with You (Luke 1:37)! In You alone, O Lord, we place our trust (Ps. 7:1). We know that You are in control, even when it appears You are not. We know that You use people and nations, often without
our knowledge, for Your good purposes. We TRUST that You are working in our circumstances, not to hurt, but to heal (Hab.). We are Your GRATEFUL children, Lord!
Lead us, guide us and direct us in our prayers.
Show us Your will, Your way. We understand that the battles raging in this nation are spiritual and are not against flesh and blood (Eph. 6:12). We KNOW that the weapons of our warfare, prayer being one of them, are mighty in divine power and strength to demolish
strongholds and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of You, Lord (2 Cor. 10:4).
We stand firm, with our eyes set on You, looking to the heavens. Our help comes from the Lord, the
maker of heaven and earth. You will not allow our feet to stumble. You do not sleep while all this is happening (Ps. 121). We love you, O Lord, our strength. You are our rock, our fortress, our deliverer. You are our rock, in whom we take refuge. You are our
shield, and the horn of our salvation, our stronghold. We call to You, Lord, who is worthy of praise and we are saved from our enemies (Ps. 18:1-3). We lay our requests before You and wait in expectation (Ps. 5:3).
In Ezek. 22, You looked for someone to stand in the gap and found no one, but here we are, Papa. We lift up our nation before the throne of God, and pray that You continue to work in this Nation, one nation under God, indivisible with liberty and
justice for ALL.
We petition, pray, and intercede, giving thanks for all people - for our president (kings) and all those in authority (senators, representatives, judges, police officers, governors, mayors),
that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness (1 Tim. 2:1-2). We thank You that those in our nation are respectful to the governing authorities including our president, police officers, federal, state and local authorities, for there
is no authority except that which You have established. The authorities that exist have been established by You (Rom. 13:1). We thank You for bringing an end to the violence of the wicked and making the righteous secure (Ps. 7:9).
We declare that those in our nation show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, and honor our President (I Pet. 2:17) – that we would no longer be a nation divided by hatred but a nation united in love for Jesus.
We speak Your blessing over this nation!
We declare that our citizens seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which you have placed us. We pray to You, LORD, for the cities of America, because when
they prosper, we prosper (Jer. 29:7).
We thank you that President Trump is wise with the wisdom of Solomon; and serves You, LORD, with fear and trembling (Ps. 2:10-11). We thank You that President Trump
is victorious because he listens to many Godly advisors (Prov. 11:14). We thank You that President Trump’s heart is a stream of living water in Your hand, LORD; that You turn President Trump the direction of Your will (Prov. 21:1).
Prov. 2:1-8 – We declare that President Trump and those in authority accept Your words and store up Your commands within them, 2) turning their ears to wisdom and applying their hearts to understanding. They call out for insight and cry aloud
for understanding. They look for wisdom like silver and search for it like treasure, They understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of You. 6) For You give wisdom; from Your mouth comes knowledge and understanding. 7) You hold success in store
for the upright, You are a shield to those whose walk is blameless, 8. You guard the course of the just and protect the way of Your faithful ones.
We know that the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy
(John 10:10). We know that Satan tried to tempt Jesus and that Jesus replied with scripture (Matt. 4). We know that scripture, Your Word, is ALIVE, sharper than a two-edged sword, able to separate soul and spirit (Heb. 4:12). We know that no weapon formed
against us will prosper (Isa. 54:17). We take up the shield of faith that quenches all the fiery darts of the enemy and put on the shoes of the gospel of Peace (Eph. 6).
We bind and rebuke the Spirits
of power, pride, arrogance, control, violence, division, fear, evil, manipulation, deception, materialism, corruption, socialism, strife, murder, hatred, jealousy, and greed. We loose the spirits of freedom, righteousness, justice, order, integrity, unity,
character, truth, and life, in our government and media and in this nation.
(Prov. 3:32) LORD, You detest the perverse, but You are a friend to the upright.
(Prov. 11:21) We are assured that the wicked will not go unpunished, and the offspring of the righteous will escape.
(Prov. 13:6) We know righteousness guards the man of integrity, but wickedness
undermines the sinner.
(Jer. 9: 3-7) They bend their tongues for lies: they are not valiant for the truth; they proceed from evil to evil, and they do not know me, declares the LORD. …5) And they
will deceive their neighbor, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity. 6) They live in the midst of deception; through deceit they refuse to acknowledge me, declares the LORD. 7) Therefore
the LORD of hosts says, Behold, I will refine and test them. Deceit will be made known (Prov. 26:26).
(Prov. 14:9) There are those that laugh at sinful actions, their own or others; they make light of
them, call evil good, and good evil; they take pleasure in doing wrong themselves, and in others who do wrong; they mock rebukes for wrong doing, and scoff at those that rebuke the evildoers; and laugh at the awful judgment they are warned of. They scoff,
"where is the promise of His coming?" They are fools but the upright find favor. Remind them, Father, of the man on the cross with Jesus who repented and found favor with our Lord.
(Luke 12) Your Word
tells us to guard against all kinds of greed.
(James 5: 1-6) Look here, you rich people: Weep and groan with anguish because of all the terrible troubles ahead of you. 2) Your wealth is rotting away, and
your fine clothes are moth-eaten rags. 3) Your gold and silver are corroded. The very wealth you were counting on will eat away your flesh like fire. This corroded treasure you have hoarded will testify against you on the day of judgment. 4) For listen! Hear
the cries of the field workers whom you have cheated of their pay. The cries of those who harvest your fields have reached the ears of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. 5) You have spent your years on earth in luxury, satisfying your every desire. You have
fattened yourselves for the day of slaughter. 6) You have condemned and killed innocent people, who did not oppose you.
(Prov. 15:27 & 28:25) Papa, we know that those who love greed stir up conflict
and bring trouble to their homes. We know that those that hate bribes live and those that trust in the Lord prosper.
(Matt. 6:24) We cannot serve both God and money.
We know that where our treasure is, that’s where our heart is and we are commanded to store up our treasure in heaven where it’s protected from moth, rust and thieves. You are Jehovah Jirah, our provider.
We know that Jesus turned over the tables and scattered the coins in the temple declaring Your house shall be called a house of prayer and we declare that in our churches today. That YOU would overturn the tables in our churches today to bring them
back to their zeal for YOU (John 2:15-17). We know that Your desire for obedience surpasses your desire for offerings (1 Sam. 15:22). We speak obedience over Your servants. We repent for being lukewarm (Rev. 3:16).
We know that You do not condone racism or sexism. We know that you are no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34). We know that we are all descendants of Adam and Eve. Every nationality is seed You created in and from the womb of Eve. Each person You
create is knit together in their mother’s womb, fearfully and wonderfully made (Ps. 139:13-14), wanted and cherished by You. You created us in Your image, male and female (Gen. 1:26), not black and white.
and Aaron were called to help Moses but when they spoke against the leader You chose, Miriam had leprosy for seven days. She repented and was healed (Num. 12). Papa, we thank You that if any of those (in government and media) who have been called to serve,
speak against President Trump, that You would cause them to become “leprous” and that they would be removed from the camp until they repent.
When Balaam (destroyer) was hired to speak a curse
over the nation, you sent an angel with a sword (God’s Word) to cut him down but his donkey reared up and spoke, putting the fear of God in Balaam and he was only allowed to speak a blessing over the nation. So Papa, we declare that the hired destroyers
that are being brought in would be cut down by Your Word and that they would only be allowed to bless this nation. We declare that those that brought in the destroyers would see Your angel with the sword and rear up in the fear of God. Furthermore, we thank
You that only blessings may be spoken over both Israel and her ally, the United States of America (Num. 22).
When the armies came against the nation of Israel, You caused confusion in the enemy’s
camp (1 Sam. 14:20). So Papa, we thank You for doing the same to our enemies now. We thank You that You cause confusion in their camps, that their cell phones do not work, and that they turn on and destroy each other. And Papa, when the people tried to build
a city and tower reaching the heavens, thinking they could be their own god (just like now), you confused their language and scattered them (Gen. 11). We thank you, Lord, for doing that again, in this day, to those that are globalists and seeking a One World
Order. We thank you for delivering us from wicked and evil men (2 Thess. 3:2).
(2 Kings 6) We are reminded that when Elisha prayed for the servants eyes to be opened, You opened his eyes and let him see
that the hills were full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. “Do not be afraid,” “for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” We thank you that we are not on the side of politics, race or any other
division and we declare that we choose the side of God.
Your Word says that nothing is hidden that will not become known, what is secret will come to light, what is covered will be revealed, whatever is
said in the dark will be heard in the light. Therefore, we declare that the plans for destruction for this nation would be brought to light (Luke 8, Luke 12). We declare that You close the mouth of the lions that try to devour, and protect our nation from
the horns of the wild oxen. (Ps. 22:21). We thank You that President Trump REJOICES in You and that You close the mouth of anyone who speaks lies (Ps. 63:11). We declare that lying lips be put to silence (Ps. 31:18).
We thank You for placing a hedge of protection around President Trump, his house, family, secret service, cabinet members, his advisers, and all their families. We thank You for blessing the work of his hands and we declare his substance and influence
increase in the land (Job 1:10). Thank You for protecting President Trump from evil.
We do not war against flesh and blood but against principalities, powers, rulers of darkness, and spiritual hosts of
wickedness. (Eph. 6:12). So Papa, we speak forgiveness over the people who are rioting, vandalizing, looting, killing and cursing those whom you have put in place over us. We forgive them as you have forgiven us. We thank you that they turn from their wicked
ways, that You take their hearts of stone and give them hearts of flesh (Ezek. 36:26). Your desire is that none should perish and that everyone come to repentance (2 Pet. 3:9). Father, forgive us for showing contempt for the riches of Your kindness, forbearance
and patience, forgetting that Your goodness leads to repentance (Romans 2:4).
Your Word tells us not to be overcome by evil, but to overcome evil with good (Rom. 12:21). Help us to come at our enemies in the opposite spirit. We stand
in agreement with St Francis of Assisi when he prayed, “Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is doubt, let me sow faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy. Heavenly Father, grant
that we may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console; to be understood, as to understand; to be loved as to love.” Help us to bless our enemies, Lord, as we know that a gentle word turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger (Prov. 15:15).
The wise speak words that bring healing (Prov. 12:18).
Your Word says the iniquities visit to the 3rd and 4th generation but for those that love You, Your mercy extends to the thousandths generations.
So Papa, we remind You of the faithfulness of the people who sang, worshipped and praised You while slaves in this nation, that now, Father, You would extend Your love and grace to their offspring, that these people would know Your love, Your grace and what
they mean to You. That they surrender to You to the thousandth generation. (Deut. 5).
Solomon said in Ecclesiastes, There is a time to cry and laugh, a time to be sad and to dance, a time to throw stones
and a time to gather them, a time to hug and to not hug, a time to look for something and a time to stop looking, a time to keep things and a time to throw things away, a time to tear apart and a time to bring together, a time to be silent and to speak. A
time to love and to hate, a time for war and for peace. Our nation has been crying, throwing stones, tearing each other apart and hating our brothers and sisters. We have been a nation at war and we are pleading like Your people Israel pleaded when they were
being oppressed and abused by the Egyptians. We are pleading for that time for gathering, coming together, for speaking and listening, and for hugging. We declare now is the time to love one another. We are pleading for and thanking You for peace in this nation.
We remember when the disciples were afraid of the storm, they woke Jesus and Jesus commanded the storm to ‘BE STILL’. Jesus then rebuked the disciples for being afraid and lacking faith. Papa, we are NOT
afraid, we have FAITH and we model after Jesus and tell the storms raging in this nation to ‘BE STILL’ (Mark 4).
We hear You call us to get out of the boat to come to You, like You called Peter
to walk on water. We thank You that we keep our eyes set on you, not on the waves around us, to walk on water (Matt. 14).
In Isa. 58, you tell us we WILL rebuild the ancient ruins, we will raise up the
foundations, we will be called the repairer of the breach, restorer of the streets where we live. We thank You for calling us to prayer, to protect and rebuild our part of the wall and we thank You, like You called Nehemiah, You call others. “Wherever
you hear the sound of the trumpet, join us there. Our God will fight for us!” (Neh. 4). Our eyes are on YOU!!
Lord, we know that You have reserved the privilege to conceal mysteries in Your Word
and we thank You that it is the delight of kings to investigate and understand (Prov. 25). We know, that the end times are getting closer and closer. We can foresee the distress but believe Your Word that Your people whose names are written in Your book will
be delivered. We know that the words and the understanding of the words have been sealed up until the end times and remind You that Your Word says the wise will understand (Dan. 12). We ask, Lord, for You to give us ears to hear, eyes to see and a heart to
understand what You are telling us, revealing to us.
We thank you Lord that Your Word goes out to accomplish all it has been sent to do and does NOT return void (Isa. 55:11).
In Jesus Mighty Name!
