The Lord Did Something in My Heart

By Kathy Mote

The Lord did something in my heart yesterday that I would like to share. Well, yesterday He did many things, and in the midst of careful watching for what was promised, there was great warfare and my heart grew weary with all that warred against my peace.

In all the stress, I longed for a break, just one pleasant moment, like a day at the beach. I remember those days, sand and surf, a gentle breeze in the warmth of the sun, and in that moment, my heart cried out for just one moment of fun.

What the Lord promised came to me with perfect timing. Isn't that just like the Lord? It turned out that I had nothing to worry about, even though the enemy was determined to steal away my gift. My new purple mattress was delivered anyway, even though it bore the wrong destination tag. Just as it was being taken off the truck, my daughter's friend showed up to help set it up.

As I thanked the Lord, I remembered a time when there wasn't so much resistance and warfare. My weary heart missed that so much. It was then the Lord filled my soul with those feelings again, sun, surf, warm breeze and the sounds of the ocean. I was revived in a way that was a miracle, just like I had been there, sitting on the beach. I even felt the sun on my arms.

I can still feel it, that deep breath you take on the first day of vacation as you make a memory you will never forget and I am revived. Living in my heart is the precious gift of a renewed spirit. Thank you, Lord, for my new mattress and that gentle breeze that made its way into my life.

The Lord Often Highlights the Life of Abraham

By Kathy Mote

The Lord often highlights the life of Abraham to teach me how to abide. One lesson was that life goes on, even in the midst of Earth shaking, ground breaking covenant being struck between God and man. But sometimes, in the waiting, I fail to enjoy the mundane. I only know how to wait and I often don't find much joy in that. Where I find great joy in knowing the Lord, this life is something I am over and I am ready to move on.

It's not the best my heart can reflect back to Him, and so I press ever deeper to be grateful by choice. In the big things we wait for and the small things we are already given, it is an honor to know He is faithful and to be content. Abraham never did fully understand the covenant promise he was given. But that didn't stop him from living his life with a full heart.

There Was A Man

By Kathy Mote

There was a man who owned a field, but an evil taskmaster was set in place whose ways were lies and rebellion. This was a very cruel man and he oppressed all who were in the field, making all who were near him yearn for justice. Now, it came to pass that those in the field who sought peace and order sought the Owner, and so it was that their hearts were given to Him, and they ever more set their eyes upon Him. This is how it has been for so long, that our peace depends upon knowing we belong to Him. It is His agenda we will be seeing as He uproots the evil taskmaster and throws him down before us. And we will know He rules over all, for we have learned that justice is within Him.

The Lord is Removing

By Kathy Mote

The Lord is removing the "I, me, my" from the hearts of His Beloved as He heals them. Flowing from within their hearts is the peace and order of being in His presence.
