The Lord Has Been Preparing Our Hearts

By Kathy Mote

The Lord has been preparing our hearts not to consider the opinion of man. This is not done from a place of argument, or rebellion, or civil war. We do not declare ourselves to do this. This is not to be done from a place of debate over right or wrong. That is opinion against opinion, and there's no power in that.

I have come to the place where being right means being right with what the Lord wants in my heart. Since my objective in all things is to be with Him, He is what matters to me and this is what He has done. He has separated me from the thinking of man by speaking to me Himself. As I hear His voice, what He says is what I know.

Being devoted means being dedicated. I only hear one voice. The enemy got real upset about what the Lord said, and rose to defend himself. Now the opinion of man and the enemy's voice sound the same to me. Arrogant and opinionated, convinced of what they know, they know what they see, and that has nothing to do with what the Lord said.

So, I said all that to say this. What we say as we are abiding in the Lord's presence is what we hear from Him. End of discussion. End of debate. End of everyone else's opinions. End of hearing them disagree. Simply stated, they didn't hear Him, they only know what they see. Called out from among them, we just don't care to look at them.

I feel I should warn you, though, this is where hearing the Lord takes a deeper bow. We must not be found in arrogance ourselves. This deeper bow is what He requires. To be brought into His presence is to receive an ever more humble heart. A heart poured out. A heart dedicated to hearing Him with the desire to be as He says. Lord we give you our heart, please give us Your heart. Draw us in deeper, that we may hear Your voice.

The Lord Is Teaching Our Heart

By Kathy Mote

The Lord is teaching our heart to walk with Him, speaking to our heart on a deeper level, drawing us into deeper communion.

I was eating my (almost) lovely dinner, which had turned out very heavy and greasy. Half way through my dinner, the Lord said, That's enough, babe. So, I put my fork down, delighted to hear Him. It was in that moment I realized I didn't feel well. He had looked out for me and I was so grateful. It was gratitude that received healing from Him. Gone was my tummy ache without even asking.

This was mine from being in His arms already. But that was not what happened two hours earlier. I had trouble hearing Him tell me not to eat ice cream.

I had decided to go for a cone, but He said, You don't need ice cream. Such a still, small voice that could barely be heard. I hated not hearing Him, and like a child that needed a hug, I snuggled closer to Him in my heart, not caring about anything but hearing Him.

I know this might sound silly, but it hurts me to be separate from Him. When our heart expresses our need of Him, it is His heart that answers. As He is drawing us closer, we will hear Him by the love He is sharing. Knowing He loves us and loving Him back is how we will hear Him as we go deeper.

Whether or not we eat ice cream is not the point, living outside His protective embrace is. Hearing Him as deeply as He wants to be heard is how we walk with Him. How we will follow Him is to want Him. He is teaching our hearts to commune with Him.

What I Am Doing

By Kathy Mote

The Lord said, “What I am doing in you will make you one with Me. One heart, one mind, one abundant life honoring the Father. You follow after Me as I lead and comfort you. I am the Life and the Truth in you. The love you feel in your heart for Me is My presence, making our hearts one, together. This is the will of the Father.”
