FIRE BY NIGHT
By Glenn H. Jackson
Upon Reflections" [of The Father's Heart]
...."You, in Your great compassion, did not forsake them in the wilderness; The pillar of cloud did not leave
them by day, to guide them on their way, or the pillar of fire by night, to light for them the way in which they were to go".... Nehemiah 9:19 NASB
TO BE OR NOT TO BE ... FOUND TRUSTWORTHY
Words of Prophecy:
"Trustworthiness" will be one of the major signs of the Glorious Church in this final hour to a world that is basically devoid of trust in any of its forms.
a man proclaims his own loyalty, but who can find a trustworthy man/woman?".... Proverbs 20:6 NASB
...."For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power
[making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life [soul] and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing
and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart".... Hebrews 4:12 The Amplified Translation
...."A friend loves at all times"....
Proverbs 17:17a NASB
...."Love [God's love in us] does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking".... 1 Corinthians 13:5 The Amplifed
"Trustworthiness" is tied directly to how great our desire is to display [accurately represent] the Father's heart [Love] through our own lives -
a godly desire that is both established and fuelled by intimate fellowship with Him in the "inner chamber" on a daily basis. If one is in right fellowship with the Father and His Word [giving that holy and all-powerful Word preeminence in every aspect of their
lives] THEN there will be NO room left for unrighteous [selfish] motives to creep into one's heart. The Father's heart is purely selfless Love - both holy and divine [supernatural]- and, thus, one who is truly found to be a trustworthy friend shows these same
characteristics in their relationship with us. To be loved and trusted [and to love and trust] with the purity of the Love of God is a VERY precious thing - not only in our sight but, also in the Father's sight [Psalm 133].
On our own part, do we love others with the Father's Love? Is everything that we pass along to them through our words and actions according to the Father's highest purpose for them? When one is being driven
by "selfishness" [unrighteous motivation]in any of its forms THEN they are walking outside the realm of divine Love. Using this benchmark, it is clear to see whether or not we are a trustworthy friend with a pure heart in the eyes of God:
Are we loving them AS He loves them or does there still remain an element of self-desire and self-agenda within us?
The love of the Father is a passionate Love that both wells up and overflows continually. It is a Love that is ALWAYS seeking the greatest good for His children in any given moment. It is a Love that is not driven by self-centered emotions or neediness. It
is both righteous and holy! In light of these things, are we reflecting the Father's Love in ALL of our dealings with others?
In this hour, one must beware the
"friend" who, having misjudged another, passes that "unrighteous judgment" along to them as being from God. There are many in the midst of God's people who consider themselves to be trustworthy but, with poor spiritual discernment and self-seeking motives,
they speak out of their own "opinions" [devoid of a revelation from God] and package it up as "godly wisdom" while, in reality, it is "ungodly" counsel.
blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers! But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree firmly planted
by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season and its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers. The wicked are not so, but they are like chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor
sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish".... Psalms 1:1-6 NASB
It is ONLY
as one diligently "maintains" a pure and intimate relationship with the Father [again, on a daily basis] that they will be positioned properly to discern that which is unrighteous in origin and that which is righteous in origin - and who is truly trustworthy
and who is NOT. The "outward" appearance of the words and actions of other people is often deceptive but the Holy Spirit will ALWAYS give the one who truly loves God insight into [a revelation of] the deepest heart-motivation of others [in any given moment]as
they continually acknowledge the Father and His Word [Will] in ALL of their ways.
Both spiritual leaders and others in our "sphere of existence" are only trustworthy
towards us to the extent that they are laying themselves on the altar before the Lord each day - seeking only to obey His directions in every aspect of life and ministry. Each and every child of God has a responsibility to seek the Lord's guidance as to whom
they can trust [and that goes for which ministries to partake or NOT partake of - as the case may be]. To fail to do so will cause them to be "blinded" [and deceived] - since the placing of "flesh and blood" above the Father and His Word [following after the
opinions and agendas of men rather than a revelation of God's Will] constitutes the sin of idolatry in His sight!
This entire topic of trust and trustworthiness
boils down to putting God first in one's life and ministry - at ALL times. We are commanded to Love the Lord our God with ALL our heart, soul, strength and mind and, THEN, to love our neighbor as ourselves [Luke 10:27]. That is the correct order. Therefore,
our top priority MUST always be that our relationship with the Father is wholesome and open - devoid of the "self-will" that is a certain catalyst for the impartation of darkness [both to us from the Enemy and through us]. It is ONLY out of our time with the
Father and Jesus in the "inner chamber" that our ministry towards others will begin to flow forth in the power of the Holy Spirit [anointing] abiding within.
HE is the One who empowers us, HE is the One
who corrects us and teaches us, and HE is the One who leads us in our relationships and friendships - and, indeed, into ALL [absolute] Truth. As our primary concern is the health of our relationship with the Father and His Word, THEN [and ONLY then], all of
our other relationships will fall into their perfect positioning, in Christ. Anything less means we are attempting to undertake relationships in our "own" strength - and they will, ultimately, fail - for it is ONLY Love [God's Love in us] that NEVER fails!
We cannot expect the "rivers of living water" to flow out of us unless we, ourselves, first tap into The Source. When we fully lean on God, He will give us the necessary words
and actions to bless our friends with on a continual basis - and what a TRUE blessing ALL that we say and do will be to them!
...."He who believes in Me [who
cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Me] as the Scripture has said, from his innermost being shall flow [continuously] springs and rivers [torrents] of living water".... John 7:38 The Amplified Translation
Father, we thank You and praise You that You have raised us up a people who are found trusting in You with all of our hearts - a people who,
in total reliance upon You, are found trustworthy in the carrying out of Your Will. And we declare it DONE [on an ongoing basis], in the Name of Jesus - to Your greatest Glory. Amen.
