Why Hell?

By Prophet Ken Dewey

Have you ever wondered why there even is a place called Hell?

Why did The LORD create Hell in the first place?

The answer:

There has to be a Hell [a place for unbelievers and the wicked, and ungodly who have rejected God and His Son, Jesus Christ] to go.

Because God created man in His Image.

“And God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, after our likeness,'”  (Genesis 1:26)

Since men are created in the image of God, that means that men will live forever.

That is right.  God lives forever, and is eternal.  Men are eternal, in His Image.

It follows that God must make a place — somewhere in His creation — to contain all those who insist on living in sin and insist on rejecting Jesus Christ and Him.

God cannot allow sin to go unpunished.  He himself cannot abide forever with sinners who are unholy.

God is Holy, and even now sin separates men from His Holy Character.

God will of necessity, have to put eternal man somewhere.  He cannot let sinners into His Holy Kingdom where He himself lives forever!  He must separate them sooner or later….

For God is Holy!

Hell will be forever.  The fire will never go out!  The worms will never die.  The men in hell will be cast away forever… because they cannot live forever in God’s Holy Kingdom.

Scripture:

The words of Jesus himself…

“And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.

And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of god with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched,”   Mark 9:42-48.
