Jeremiah 29:13 NIV

By Kathy Mote

Jeremiah 29:13

New International Version

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

New Living Translation

If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.

King James Bible

And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Contemporary English Version

You will worship me with all your heart, and I will be with you as you humble your heart to hear my voice.

Good News Translation

You will seek me, and you will find me because you will desire me with all your heart.

When Jeremiah was sent to say this, the people had gone into exile into Babylon. The prophets of that day prophesied from their own heart saying the Lord had sent them, but the Lord had not sent them. Basically what they said was, 'give up the desire to be set aside for the Lord and be like the world, and because your exile will be long, live like this is the new normal and settle down, seeking the prosperity of Babylon'. The prophets in exile with them had told them to 'prosper in their flesh and blend in'.

They followed after their carnal lives instead of crying out for the Lord. The Lord promised to send the sword to those who prophesied out of their own desires saying He sent them when He had not, and to those who heard them (those who appointed them to prophesy such things over them because that is what they wanted to hear.)

The nature and way of carnal thinking is to appoint a prophet and a teacher who says what you want to hear, and then place all your trust in that prophesy and teaching, absolving your own heart of any guilt for not seeking the Lord's presence with your whole heart.

The Lord's message today is to all who are far from knowing His heart. Seek Him with a heart that is open to Him that you may know His heart for you, for that is the way to hear Him and in hearing Him you will know Him. That is communion of the heart and it is our invitation. He calls us His children because we are the desire of His heart, and opening our heart to receive Him and know His love for us is how we enter fellowship with Him.

On A Post That Declared We Need To Lose

By Kathy Mote

On a post that declared we need to lose our religious thinking and have an intimate and personal, heart given to Him relationship with the Lord Jesus our Savior, someone asked for a scripture to prove it to those who do not believe. I almost cried. My answer is, All of them point to Him!  They all declare Him. But they cannot give you a relationship with Him. Like any relationship you pour your heart into knowing Him.

I can no longer strive with carnal man who will not see, for no one can convince them. Those who hear His voice are called to know His heart. They are blessed to be called to Him. So I say, I am dying to Live and I am living to die, that I might see Him face to face, and be forever in His presence.

Romans 10:9-11

If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. This is to acknowledge He is the Living God. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved and brought into His presence to know Him. As the Scriptures tell us, “Those who trust in Him will never be forsaken.”

Oh, Lord, I love You for loving me.❤️

So, Simply Put

By Kathy Mote

So, simply put, everything man does to become what only Jesus Christ can do in him is a carnal imitation, and justifiably called new age. (I am assuming I am using the right term, so please bear with me). Mankind, by whatever means he can, will aspire to impersonate the Life of God and imitate the power of God. 🤔

My daughter, who hates the subject of 'new age', explained a few things to me. She said, 'whatever man does on his own' to become what God promised he would be in Christ is 'new age'.

I have walked with Jesus for 40 years, and 'new age' never came up between us, and in His presence, I don't think about it. But she has been exposed to it and she hates it. She considers any carnal imitation of the Life and health and peace God promised in Christ Jesus to be 'new age.'

After she explained her definition of 'new age' to me, she said, Mom, it's what you preach against almost continuously. Instead of trusting Christ, they aspire to have 'life' without Him by any and every other means and that explains almost every known discipline and religion.

Many of my friends from so long ago have gone the way of 'alternative thinking', and over the years have disassociated themselves from me. They think I'm simplistic, walking with Jesus. This is a polite way of calling me simple minded for trusting in Jesus. I still smile in His presence about it. They are right. It is simple.
