FIRE BY NIGHT
By Glenn H. Jackson
"Reflections Upon Reflections" [of The Father's Heart]
...."You, in Your great compassion, did not forsake them in the wilderness; The
pillar of cloud did not leave them by day, to guide them on their way, or the pillar of fire by night, to light for them the way in which they were to go".... Nehemiah 9:19 NASB
"TRYING" INDICATES AN ELEMENT OF SELF-EFFORT
Words of prophecy:
* Doubt and mistrust [of My Word] produce worry, and worry fuels fear [anxiety], and fear [pride - self-sufficiency] "maintained" will eventually produce "torment" in one's life. And, thus, if a deep and thorough
repentance is not forthcoming - through a certain "drawing near to Me" in the "inner chamber" [on a daily basis] - THEN, ultimately, it will lead to "presumption" in that one's life [taking matters into one's own hands] where My Will [Word] is concerned.
"Torment"- a state of great bodily or mental suffering; anguish; acute distress;
...."Trust in the Lord with all your
heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight".... Proverbs 3:5-6 NASB
hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind".... 2 Timothy 1:7 KJV
...."We are destroying speculations and every lofty
thing raised up against the true knowledge of God[and who we ALREADY are, in Christ], and we are taking every thought captive [through proclamation] to the obedience of Christ [a revelation of the Father's Will]".... 2 Corinthians 10:5 NASB
...."But seek [aim at and strive after] first of all His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right], and then all these things taken together will be given you besides. So do not worry
or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries and anxieties of its own. Sufficient for each day is its own trouble".... Matthew 6:33-34 The Amplified Translation
...."Come close [draw near] to God and He will come close to you".... James 4:8 The Amplified Translation
* There is great "clarity" in the inner chamber [the secret
place of My Presence].
...."The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is
evil, thy body also is full of darkness. Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness".... Luke 11:34-35 KJV
...."Blessed are the pure
in heart, for they shall see [both know and understand] God".... Matthew 5:8 NASB
Many of God's children are still trying [attempting]to live a spiritual life
BUT "trying" indicates an element of self-effort [self-will] - and, thus, ALWAYS falls short of the goal [the fullness of the Father's Will]. One entering into the place of "abiding" in Christ [holiness] involves the work of the Holy Spirit in
each of us - as the deepest inherent tendency of the "flesh" [sense-knowledge and perception] is to depart from Grace rather than seek to access it on a continual basis.
The key, once again, is the inner chamber [the secret place of God's Presence] - as in the inner chamber there is a continual flow of divine light through the Word [which is "alive and active" - and able to "separate" between soul and spirit Hebrews 4:12].
It is the place wherein a deep and absolute trust of the Father is forged - and with that ever growing trust we are transitioned [by the power of the Holy Spirit] from the place of trusting in ourselves [our own intellect and understanding]to trusting God
[and His Word] in ALL of our ways.
...."Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.
In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; reverently fear and worship the Lord and turn [entirely] away from evil. [Prov. 8:13.]".... Proverbs 3:5-7 The Amplified
Prayer of Proclamation:
Father, we thank You and praise You that You have raised us up a people
who are no longer "trying" Your Word but, rather, a people who are DOING Your Word. And we declare it DONE [on an ongoing basis], in the Name of Jesus - to Your greatest Glory. Amen.
...."But be doers of the Word [obey the message], and not merely listeners to it, betraying yourselves [into deception by reasoning contrary to the Truth]. For if anyone only listens to the Word without obeying it and being a doer of it, he is like a man who
looks carefully at his [own] natural face in a mirror; For he thoughtfully observes himself, and then goes off and promptly forgets what he was like. But he who looks carefully into the faultless law, the [law] of liberty, and is faithful to it and perseveres
in looking into it, being not a heedless listener who forgets but an active doer [who obeys], he shall be blessed in his doing [his life of obedience]".... James 1:22-25 The Amplified Translation
