FIRE BY NIGHT
By Glenn H. Jackson
"Reflections Upon Reflections" [of The Father's Heart]
...."You, in Your great compassion, did not forsake
them in the wilderness; The pillar of cloud did not leave them by day, to guide them on their way, or the pillar of fire by night, to light for them the way in which they were to go".... Nehemiah 9:19 NASB
THE PRACTICE OF OBEDIENCE
Words of prophecy:
* Perfect obedience will ALWAYS "necessitate" one laying
down their soul-life [their "own strength and understanding] through a continual self-denial - in order to diligently pursue [and then act upon] a revelation of My Will.
...."Then Jesus said to His disciples, 'If anyone desires to be My disciple, let him deny himself [disregard, lose sight of, and forget himself and his own interests] and take up his cross and follow Me [cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example
in living and, if need be, in dying, also]'"..... Matthew 16:24 The Amplified Translation
...."Now faith is the assurance [the confirmation, the title deed] of the things
[we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses]".... Hebrews 11:1 The Amplified Translation
"obedience"
- the seeking after and gaining a "revelation" of God's Will and, THEN, carrying it out to fulfilment from beginning to end [regardless of how long that may take] in the unction and power of the Holy Spirit [Who is the Spirit of Love, the Spirit of Christ
etc.], alone.
The practice of obedience and the practice of "self-denial" are one and the same. For obedience requires ALWAYS requires faith [trust in God] - and
a "certain" departure from leaning upon one's "own" understanding in order to "affix" themselves to a "revelation" of the Father's Will [Word].
...."Lean on, trust in,
and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths".... Proverbs 3:5-6 The Amplified
Translation
Prayer of Proclamation:
Father, we thank You and praise You that You have blessed us with a deep and abiding
revelation of "self-denial". And we declare it DONE [on an ongoing basis], in the Name of Jesus - to Your greatest Glory. Amen.
