The Storm Riders

By Deborah Waldron Fry

“The STORM RIDERS, God’s “surfers” upon the seas of Chaos.”

I woke up today seeing a sea of stormy waters.  A Believer was in the midst of these chaotic waters.

They were like Peter who had tried to step out of the boat and walk on the water, but when he looked at the wind and waves around him, started sinking.

But IMMEDIATELY Jesus had stretched out His Hand and caught him. He had never left Peter’s side.

And so shall it be with you, Child of God, for not only did I see this Believer rising above the waters of chaos, but he started riding UPON them, like a surfer on the waves.

And I heard,” Riders of the Storm.”  He has heard your plea, Beloved, of “Lord, save me!”

You will not just “ride out” the storms in this next season, but by faith, you will RISE ABOVE them, and the chaos will be under your feet!

And I also heard, “SUDDENLY, you shall reach the SHORE where you are heading!” (John 6:21)

“Beloved, Do not fear.  It is I.  Truly, the Son of God has saved you.  I hear your cries in the midst of the storms.

I AM your Refuge and Strength, a very present Help in trouble.  Therefore do not fear even though the earth be removed and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though it’s waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling.

Look to Me, Dear One.  This is so important, My Child.  Do not look at the circumstances but look to Me.

I AM in your midst, you shall not be moved; I shall help you just at the break of Dawn.  Though the nations rage and the kingdoms crumble, I utter My Voice, and the earth melts.

The LORD of Hosts is with you.  I brought you from the ends of the earth and called you from its farthest corners.  Fear not, for I AM with you; be not dismayed, for I AM your God.

I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.  Speak SHALOM in the midst of your storms.

Behold, all who rage against you will be ashamed and disgraced; those who contend with you will be reduced to nothing and will perish.

I have called you to be above and not beneath.  The stormy waters of chaos shall NOT overwhelm you, but I have raised you up above the chaos, up above all principalities and power.

I AM bringing things back into order, Beloved.  You are a STORM RIDER.  Chaos shall have no hold on you.

You shall ride upon the Wings of the Wind.  I have placed everything under your feet.  Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit,” says The LORD of Hosts.

The 4 characters in the word SHALOM mean : To destroy the authority which establishes chaos.  And the result of destroying the authority which brings chaos, is PEACE.

Surfer : {meaning ON THE SEA}  A person who rides the CREST (highest point) of a wave toward the shore while standing or lying on a surfboard.  A person who spends time using the internet. (For God’s GLORY!!) Don’t you love that it has that second meaning also! 😃

“Surf” has its origins in the late 17th century, apparently from obsolete “suff”, meaning “the shoreward surge of the sea”.  The language specialists underline that “suff” might have been influenced by the spelling of “SURGE”.  (Yesterday’s word!!)

Just heard HANG TEN as I was rereading this. Don’t you love our Father’s sense of humor and how He comes down to our level to speak to us. He is so good! 😃 Hang 10 is a surfing term; Originated from the surfing culture to refer to the act of hanging all ten toes off the front of a long board while surfing a wave. Also in slang refers to the art of kicking back and resting. TEN is the NUMBER OF TESTIMONY. TEN is double FIVE, the number of GRACE, GRACE upon GRACE! John 1:16 From His fullness we have all received grace upon grace. 17For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.…

CHAOS : TOHU in Hebrew: complete disorder and confusion.  The opposite of God’s ORDER.  “Throughout scripture there are hints of tohu in the Tanakh… hints to remind us that chaos was always trying to make a comeback.  There were, and are, forces that want to make life unlivable.  YHWH promised to send a Messenger of good news, an Anointed One who would save humanity… a Perfect God Man who would conquer chaos and death (Jesus).

The Adversary (ha-Satan) wanted, first and foremost, to eliminate order and bring back chaos, which ultimately would lead to the finality of death. The Adversary was anti-creation and anti-life, and he has done his very best to put the planet out of order.

He wanders the earth looking to shake things up: BUT GOD…. Death and darkness was the ultimate chaos… BUT JESUS our Savior, rising back to life after death was the only thing that could destroy chaos, and bring order back for all eternity.

It was the ultimate example of order defeating chaos. Death/chaos did not, and could not, hold Yeshua (Jesus) down!  By conquering death He conquered chaos! (Hebrew Word Lessons)

“Then they were willing to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached the SHORE where they were heading!”   John 6:21.

“For He [YHWH] rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins,”   Colossians 1:13-22.

“The city of CHAOS [tohu] is broken down; every house is shut up so that none may enter,”   Isaiah 24:10.

“For YHWH’s portion is His people; Jacob is the allotment of His inheritance. He found him in a desert land, and in the howling waste (CHAOS) [uv’tohu y’lel] of a wilderness; He encircled him, He cared for him, He guarded him as the pupil of His eye. Like an eagle that stirs up its nest, that hovers over its young, He spread His wings and caught them, He carried them on His pinions. YHWH alone guided him, and there was no foreign god with him,”   Deuteronomy 32:9-12.

“What is man that You are mindful of him, or the son of man that You care for him?  You made him a little lower than the angels; You crowned him with glory and honor.  You made him ruler of the works of Your hands; You have placed everything UNDER HIS FEET,”   Psalm 8:4-6

“Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea.  And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!”  And they cried out for fear.  But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.”  And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”   So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.  But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”  And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”  And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.  Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God,”   Matthew 14: 25:33.

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.  Therefore we will not fear,

Even though the earth be removed,And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

Though its waters roar and be troubled,Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah.  There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God,The holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High.  God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God shall help her, just at the break of dawn.  The nations are in CHAOS (raged) the kingdoms were moved; He uttered His voice, the earth melted.  The LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah,”   Psalm 46:1-7.

“I brought you from the ends of the earth and called you from its farthest corners. I said, ‘You are My servant.’ I have chosen and not rejected you.  0Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will surely help you; I will uphold you with My right hand of righteousness.  Behold, all who rage against you will be ashamed and disgraced; those who contend with you will be reduced to nothing and will perish,”   Isaiah 41:9-11.

“Then shalt thou delight thyself in The LORD; and I will cause thee to RIDE UPON the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of The LORD hath spoken it,”   Isaiah 58:14.
