If God is for me . . . who can be against me?

You toss me about in the storm . . .

At the Sound of His Roar

By Dana Jarvis

You Toss Me About in the Storm!

If you’ve ever known disease, you have known the storm.  If you’ve ever known heart-piercing grief, you’ve known the sensation.

If you’ve ever been betrayed, forsaken, cheated or hurt, you’ve known the horror at the heart of it all.

Job’s poetic story indicates a gathering of the clouds, a blowing of the winds, a storm of incredible magnitude.

Eventually, God spoke to Job out of the storm, his voice surrounded by the flashes of lightening and the crashing of the thunder.

As the storm rolled in, Job never moved.  With the rain coming down, he sat in the wet mass of dust and ashes.

Job’s message?  The message I want to leave with you today.

Look squarely and honestly into the center of the dark clouds and the raging storm.

For it is there you will find that God has kept His promise to never leave you, to never forsake you, and to never stop using you for His glory.

Impatience with God

The works birthed from our impatience with God is a mere counterfeit of the real and can cause problems.

We failed to wait on our Isaac and created an Ishmael

Remember the vision is for an appointed time, but in the end it shall speak and not lie, though it tarry, wait for it, because it will surely come, it will not tarry.  (Habakkuk 2:3)

The Cage-less Bird

As I sit here during a time of late night prayer and worship, the whole room just filled with His Presence.

No one can tell me you cannot have encounters with him or that there is so much more.  No one can tell me he does not speak audibly to us.  No one can tell me to remain quiet or I would be out of order.

I want to be transparent for a moment.  I saw this picture and it took me back of where The LORD led me out into a much different place several years ago.

I have sat in pews where I left no different than when I walked in.  I have sat in pews where I felt like I was spiritually dying.

I have been in pews of some programmed services from start to finish and the spirit seemed so hindered.  The altars were empty, the people sat like the frozen chosen, and the spirit of God was so hindered.

I believe in some of these services I had been in, the Holy Ghost packed a bag and left the building  🙆‍♀️  🤦‍♀️ lol.

I sit here in a room filled with his presence leaving me wanting more.  I crave his very presence, his voice.

Every encounter with him is sacred and oh how there is so much more for his people if only you press in.  He removed from me those limitations in my mind, he placed a fire in me that is truly shut up in my bones.

He came to me and my heart cried out, “Wherever you go, that is where I want to be!”

I am that cage-less bird!

Soaring on the wind of his spirit!  Free, unrestricted and held in the hands of my King!  The deep places of him calling to the deep places within me.

At the Sound of His Roar

At the sound of his roar, sorrows will be no more, the enemy will flee, the winter season you have found yourself in will meet its death.

And when God speaks, just as a lion’s roar provokes fear, the Word of The LORD provokes prophecy.

Now I am not talking about the prophecy so many are clambering after today, the type that is little more than divination dressed up in Biblical language.

I’m talking about women and men of God willing to stand in this generation and declare, “Thus sayeth The LORD!”, women and men who confidently stand on the authority of Scripture and declare that it truly is the unshakable, unbreakable, untameable, Living Word of the Living God.

Those who have heard the Mighty Lion roar, whose blood is set on fire by the all-consuming Word of God, who feel they cannot but speak who like Jeremiah of old, would say.

If I say, “I will not mention him, or speak any more in his name,” there is in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I am weary with holding it in, and I cannot.
