Bitter Waters Turned Sweet

By Junu Thomas

As William Cowper, one of the greatest English poets and hymn writers wrote:

“Judge not The LORD by feeble sense,

But trust Him for His grace;

Behind a frowning providence

He hides a smiling face.

His purposes will ripen fast,

Unfolding every hour;

The bud may have a bitter taste,

But sweet will be the flower.”

Yes, it’s been a tough pill for Christians to swallow with the US 2020 Election results, but The LORD spoke to me that there is sweetness hidden in the midst of this bitter experience.

Through Faith and Patience, the Church will soon partake of the sweetness that LORD had hidden from everyone. As written in Deuteronomy 29:29 — The secret things belong to The LORD our God….

The LORD also encouraged me to not give up hope on America.

He said governments and administrations are not really controlled by the rulers as people think, but instead controlled by The Praying Church.

He said, although Ahab and Jezebel ruled Israel for a period, the regime was bridled by Elijah and the prophets. Elijah was able to control the spiritual climate of Israel through his fervent prayers and engagement.

As long as there is a Praying Remnant in America, GOD will restrain any evil governments and will put a leash on them so that they don’t establish their evil plots. So nothing to worry there.

GOD is sovereign and always in control. He never lost control of this world for a second and HE never will. As it is written,

“For Kingship belongs to The LORD, and He rules over the nations.” (Psalm 22:28).

In addition, be strong in The LORD and in the power of HIS might, as we read,

“Now He is far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.” (Ephesians 1:21).

You may not see the sweet in the bitter yet, but hold on and remain in faith.

The LORD will turn these bitter waters to sweet for His Church to the glory of His Name!

He is continuing to refine His Church, so that Isaiah 49:6 will be fulfilled –– “I will make you as a light for the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth….”
