FIRE BY NIGHT
By Glenn H. Jackson
"Reflections Upon Reflections" [of The Father's Heart]
...."You, in Your great compassion, did not forsake them in the wilderness; The pillar of cloud did not leave them by day, to guide them on their way, or the pillar of fire by night, to light for them the way in which they were to go".... Nehemiah 9:19 NASB
STUBBORNNESS ONLY COMES OUT BY PRAYER AND FASTING
Words of prophecy:
* Prayer [ongoing communication with Me in the "secret place"] produces intimacy and a supernatural affection [makes the heart grow fonder] - both for Me and for all those one prays for.
...."Be unceasing in prayer [praying perseveringly]".... 1 Thessalonians 5:17 The Amplified Translation
...."But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you".... Matthew 6:6 NASB
...."Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you".... Matthew 5:44 NASB
...."Is this not the fast which
I choose, to loosen the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, and to let the oppressed go free and break every yoke?..... If because of the sabbath [rest], you turn your foot from doing your OWN pleasure on My holy day, and call the sabbath
a delight, the holy day of the LORD honorable, and honor it, desisting from your OWN ways, from seeking your OWN pleasure and speaking your OWN word, THEN you will take delight in the LORD, and I will make you ride on the heights of the earth [Ephesians 2:6]"....
Isaiah 58:6, 13-14a NASB
"stubborn" - fixed or set in purpose or opinion [in this case, holding to self-agenda in one's life]; refusing to comply, agree or yield [in this case, to the Will of God for one's
"Stubbornness" [and the spirit thereof] ONLY comes out by prayer and fasting on the part of the one being held captive. Prayer being defined as intimate
fellowship and ongoing communication with the Father and His Word [something that is both established and maintained by obedience in entering into the "inner chamber" each day], and "fasting" being defined as not only any particular fast the Holy Spirit leads
one to partake of it also means living the "fasted life" - which is simply a life of self-denial [an abiding obedience].
Prayer of Proclamation:
Father, we thank You and praise You that, in Christ, we are free from all stubborness - and the fruit thereof [self-will, contrariness etc.]. And we declare it DONE [on an ongoing basis], in the Name of Jesus - to Your greatest Glory. Amen.
