You Must Lose Your Life in Order to Gain It in Me
By Stephen Hanson
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. He that loveth his life shall
lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.” John 12:24-25.
“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth
to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” Matthew 7:13-14.
learn to walk the way that I have walked. You must walk in my shoes,”says The LORD.
“For I walked upon this earth and took on the role of a servant. Many that are in ministry think that they
can be lords of their own life, and that is not what I have called you to do.
For it is in taking up your cross daily that you become as a servant. I have said that the road is narrow that leads unto eternal
life and this is true.
For this road will become narrower and narrower the longer you stay on it. It is paved with many trials and tribulations but it will also reap rich rewards for those who follow it.
The world says that you are owed many things; the world says that you can be king of your own life, but I say that you must lose your life in order to gain the life that I will give to you.
What will become of you in the end, you might say?
A seed that falls to the ground may seem to be dead and dormant, and yet in the end it can flourish and grow into a beautiful plant. The same
can be true of your life.
I have said that my yoke is easy and yet it is, but it can also be arduous because as you walk out this life many may decide to leave you, for they may not want to travel this
But I tell you that when you continue on this road you will see Me there traveling with you, with my hand in yours walking beside you.”
