Shadows of a Broken Heart
By Robert Blackburn
Some years back,
I had a vision. It was of a heart in the chest of a person.
At the bottom of this heart, there was a huge hole. It was as though the bottom had been blown out; there were jagged edges hanging and it was
dark and ugly.
The upper part continued to try to beat but it was very weak. It seemed that no matter what good and what strength was poured into this vessel, it only seeped out.
I saw The LORD come, and He took this heart out of this person’s chest and held it in His Hands. For a short time, He kept it there. He then placed the heart back inside, and slowly removed His Hands.
It had been completely restored and healed. The color was perfect, and it was beating normally and exactly on time. Life once more spread throughout this person. They began to function again as it had always been intended.
It was my heart….
I don’t know what it’s going to take to reach those of us today who say we are, “The Church”.
can be critical and speak against those places we say no longer have the true force of The Spirit as their main menu.
Some have stated a lot that, The Holy Spirit has already left some of those establishments.
If that’s true, and it very well could be, then something terrible remains.
It just means that there are a lot of sick and hurting people….
entered a time when the enemy is not going to be satisfied any longer in letting us “play Church”.
For a long time, as we shifted away from all the ministries that God placed in the Church,
our programs ran well.
It no longer matters that many scoff or ignore the lack of the gifts of The Spirit being manifested, in their fullness.
we have turned from making the leading of The Holy Ghost our number one priority. We don’t even know what condition we are in. We don’t know how ill we are.
What does a broken heart look like?
One of the worst hurts you can have, is to be rejected by your Church.
To be shunned by those whom you once had fellowship with, shouted with, sung with and even danced with, is one of the hardest things.
To be that one lost sheep, that the Shepherd or no one else even goes looking for, is a heartbreak like no other.
To wait for that phone call from those who say
they love you — and it doesn’t come, even when you’ve been sick unto death, damages you.
Many of us were abused; in all different kinds of ways. I know of those who were supposed to have
The Holy Ghost and their families were happier when they were not around.
One of our dear elder ministers here — who has gone on now — made a comment I can’t forget. It simply said, “Abused
people, abuse people!”
We are going to have to go looking for those folk who got hurt by some of our ignorance. We might need healing first.
get closer to Jesus if that’s who you are. You will learn things about Him you didn’t know before.
I was thinking about some times that my heart had been broken. I even broke my own heart doing
things I never ever thought I might do; much less hurting others.
But all of a sudden, I began to realize how many times His heart was broken.
they did to Him, His Own Followers who ran away and left Him; even denied knowing Him?
I’m not a doomsday prophet. I don’t claim anything. But I feel we the people are in for some bad times.
Too many have turned away from God, and at the moment, they have no intention of turning back.
It will take a lot of trouble to shake us — things are still
too good. Or at least we think they are, when they’re not.
How many are destroyed around you?
How many lives are already wrecked and we don’t
even know it?
Our people were sick already. Just how much brokenness is there?
How long before our denial wears off?
Church, people need our help; more now. Can we heal them?
Jesus came to heal the brokenhearted. Can I discern these shadows?
