I Would Like To Share

By Kathy Mote

I would like to share what I have learned about pride. Pride is declaring you are right as you are lord of your own heart. It is the expression of a rebellious heart. You will see this in those who do not hear His voice.

Say you are sharing what He told you to say, and who you are speaking to raises an alarm, fighting and arguing to defend where they are. That's their pride defending their own thoughts and it is their intense desire not to let the Truth in.

What you feel in that moment is the urge to defend what you just said. If you want to keep your peace, this is the time to retreat, not argue and strive. This is probably the most difficult choice you will ever make. To do it, you will have to live in the Truth you just shared (that wasn't received).

You do not have to defend the Truth and they will not receive by an argument with you. The Truth will defend Himself in every heart. But for the Lord to defend your heart, you must trust Him with it, not defend yourself out of pride. This is no easy feat when you are hearing someone defend their own pride. They do this because they resent not already having what you seem to have.

This battle is to decide who is Lord and it belongs to the Lord. He will win them over as He deals with them like only He can, and He will do it in love.

Remaining in your place before Him isn't dealing with someone else's pride, it is walking free of strife as you obey His voice. You do not carry the burden of what He will do in someone else's heart, you give Him yours. Love is never forced.

Time to shake off the dust. If you remain, you will have to validate their thoughts. If you do that, it will cost you where your own heart is. The choice they are forcing you to make is between Him and them. We do not compromise the Truth as we walk with Him. As He spoke to our heart, He will speak to them.

I Have Never Been One

By Kathy Mote

I have never been one to make sensationalist remarks claiming what I want the Lord to do. I obey the Lord with a humble heart as I hear His voice, and as I am made to feel what is in His heart, that is what I speak. He always speaks to my understanding in ways I am unable to dispute.

As His thoughts are revealed, I travail to convey them as He wills and that means I live them. So what I am told to say is what the Lord is intending to do in us all, now or when He has prepared our heart.

Yet some people don't understand this. They read, and they 'like', and 'receive' if it is what they want like someone who is ordering off a menu. But it is not our belief in what we want to receive that makes His will happen. What He is doing in us is by His presence and we won't fully understand until He is finished and we can see it.

What is being said as His messengers obey Him is something the Lord fully intends to do in His children. This is His presence bringing healing, deliverance and understanding of what He has done and will do in our life as He fulfills His own will to raise us.

We do not 'receive' what we want for ourselves, we receive HIM, and we trust Him. We receive the Lord's presence in our life because HE is Lord of our heart and humbly is how we Live in His presence.

As I look back on the decades of my life that I did not understand or enjoy, He reassures my heart that His heart was being served in every moment of them. I am who I am by the work of His hands, and I am grateful for His presence. I do not pick and choose what part of His will for my life I 'receive' because that is ME being lord. I receive HIM as Lord and I trust His will and that is how He is raising me as His child. That is the difference between religion and relationship.
