Something Happened Today

By Kathy Mote

Something happened today that I would like to share. The man finally came to spray around my house for spiders and ants. When he got here, I pointed to my little herb garden and said, Please don't spray there. Such a nice man. He smiled and said OK. When he left, I saw the whole area was drenched.

I sat down and pondered this, realizing that the herbs in my garden were not fit to eat. Not only this year but next year as well...that's how toxic chemicals work. They don't degrade. They don't just go away. Who knows how long they remain. Not to be too picky about this, but I planted so I could have organic herbs!

So as I began to feel anger, disappointment and hurt, there went my peace. Not to be dramatic, but this went deep! I felt something I haven't felt in years. The orphan's heart, the feeling of one who is alone in the world. No, no, no! That isn't me!!! The Lord spoke to my heart and said, Let it go. I had to dig deep to obey. That is how I kept my peace. The deeper I bowed in my heart to trust His will, the deeper I felt peace. This is a depth of dignity I have never known.

Things don't always go the way I expect, but the Lord misses nothing of my life. He always provides, even before I know what I need. I trust Him like a child, which is how He taught me to receive. In my heart is where He is present and that is how deep my peace is. Only He knows what the future holds, and only He knows what we will need. When we trust Him beyond our understanding we receive what He has purposed in His heart to provide.

The Lord Said

The Lord said, “I am going to show you off to all of Heaven.”

Proverbs 3:5-6

5 Trust the Lord with all your heart

    and lean not on your own understanding;

6 in all your ways submit to Him,

and He will make your paths straight. (He will teach you to walk with Him.)

Ok, Let’s Look At This

By Kathy Mote

Ok, let's look at this by the same logic many are living by now. If you pattern your life after the Apostle Paul, by your own thinking, God will never say or do any more than He has already said and done.

You yourself will never be healed, for you will never hear His voice. You will never know any more than you already know. God's plan for all of His creation will be stopped at the clock 2000 years ago, and Christ will never come again to take us home.

Even the Apostle Paul said to follow Christ, not to follow him. We are to hear God's voice, and be filled. That is why He created us. If you think you are to live by what the Bible says, you don't understand what you read. People make a religion out of the Bible when they don't hear Him.

We Are Not Walking

By Kathy Mote

We are not walking in the Apostle Paul's day. We are not given the anointing or the commission that God gave the Apostle Paul in his day to accomplish His will. We are being prepared for the coming of the Lord, and that is what He is pouring into us. He is present to accomplish His will in us.

We are walking in a different day. We are not called to pattern our life after someone else's walk in another time in history. God will accomplish His will in us in our time. We listen to His voice and we follow Him. His presence in us is what He is pouring out as He prepares us for His return.

We Should Stop Arguing With People

By Kathy Mote

We should stop arguing with people over what they said. As we listen to Him, our heart will be at rest. Listening to Him is a simple posture of the heart that is filled with respect. It gives us no opportunity to argue with anyone else. We take to heart only what He says to us. As we follow Him, we don't get in His way by correcting anyone else. May He deal with all those called to Him as He has dealt with us. May He gather them close, and speak to their heart.

He is calling us to our place in His arms. This is the place we are safe from all that distracts our heart from knowing His heart. His presence is the place we won't be arguing with anyone else. In His arms we will know this deep confidence in Him we call rest.
