I Once Had A Dear Friend Of Mine

By Kathy Mote

I once had a dear friend of mine become upset with me because there was something she didn't understand. This trips many of us up, and the Lord said I am to share. She was upset (and jealous) when she found out that my gas bill was $57 a month. This was a level pay plan that didn't change from month to month. She struggled to pay her bill, which was $650 every 3 months.

What she didn't realize was this was circumstance, not favor, not love. My gas bill was low because I have a small house with gas forced air. I live in town. Her heat was supplied by propane. She lived in an old farmhouse outside of town. It was circumstance that caused the difference between her life and mine, but she did not see it this way. She mistook circumstance for favor and it was only days before she did this again. She demanded to know why He spoke to me the way He did. I told her my calling was why.

Her mistake was in comparing her life to mine instead of receiving everything in her life from the Lord. In not turning her heart to Him, she turned her heart away from Him. She was unaware of Him in her daily life because she didn't receive Him in her heart. His presence is where He brings us as He makes us aware of Him. That is why we turn our heart to Him. Her jealousy was a symptom of not knowing His love for her, which she would have received had she turned her heart to Him.

For months He has been telling me those who see Him see the Truth, and those who know Him know the Truth. HE is what is going on. HE is who is giving us Life as we rest on the palm of His hand, and He is making us aware of Him as He does! He has also been saying something else that I will share. He said, It's just you and Me, kid. You needn't worry about anything else. He holds everything in His hands and as we surrender our heart, needn't worry about what He is doing with it.

As I Was Shopping For Groceries

By Kathy Mote

As I was shopping for groceries yesterday, I thought of the lovely Philly cheese steak sandwiches I used to have. I haven't shopped at the deli for meat since their quality has gone downhill. It's been years since I enjoyed a sandwich like that. I said to the Lord, “I sure miss those beef sandwiches.” He didn't say a word.

But as I walked up to the meat counter in the little grocery store here in town, Philly shaved beef was the first thing my eyes fell on. The Lord said, “There you go, hon.” I grabbed it and laughed with delight. I looked on the label to see how it was made. It was not chopped, pressed and formed, but shaved off of a roast. Under ingredients, it read Beef.

So I bought two packages and we had one for dinner last night. Oh, boy, was it good! (I downloaded a picture from the internet because we didn't think to take a picture of our dinner last night.)

The reason I am sharing this little story is to say how grateful I am. But what I want to point out is, in all the years I have shopped that little store, they have never carried such a thing. Not until I asked the Lord for it.

He takes great care to take care of us! Even in those small details that He knows are not details to us. They are part of how we live, and as He provides for us in those small details, He teaches us how close He is.

Only days before, I realized my makeup didn't look right. It made me look older, and who needs that! The way I put my eyeliner on is meant to compliment a young face. I don't have a young face anymore. I asked the Lord to help me, and within minutes, a little video on how to apply eyeliner to an older woman popped up in my feed, even though I never searched for anything like that.

So this is my Thank You to the Lord. I hope you don't think it is silly, but as the whole world is going crazy around me, He gave me a Roast Beef sandwich. It was the highlight of my day, and I thought I would share.

The Lord Said

By Kathy Mote

The Lord said that dying is nothing to be afraid of. He said it is like life. You blink your eyes and you are there. I don't mean to be insensitive, but there are many who need the comfort this will bring to their heart.

The Lord Told Us

By Kathy Mote

The Lord told us not to hide His Light under a bushel. Why would anyone think He will when He is finished with us?

Since Being In His Presence

By Kathy Mote

Since being in His presence is a matter of the heart, our heart is where we turn to Him and desire Him. Since our heart is where He speaks to us to draw us to Him, that is where we listen for Him.

When I Was A Teenager

By Kathy Mote

When I was a teenager, my grandma told me that Jesus would come again when all the Baptists went door to door in every part of the world and told everyone about Him. That is what they taught her in Sunday School. What a ridiculous notion this was. My mind scoffed at this carnal misunderstanding of scripture. Clearly, they knew nothing of Him.

But that is the sort of thing we come up with when we do not see or hear Him, before He reveals His heart and His intentions to us. Knowing His heart is a matter of giving Him your heart and listening to Him as He speaks to you. But even then, He does not reveal all of His intentions for all of creation. That is not the point of Him calling you, establishing His heart in you and your heart in Him is.

I guard my heart against the carnal thoughts of others that are spoken 'in His name' without hearing from Him. I saw one such 'prophecy' today, and it grieved me. As He comforted my heart, He showed me John the Baptist, pointing to Jesus, saying, There is the Christ, follow Him. Then He asked me a question.

He said, How many people 'heard' John the Baptist say those words? Yet, here I AM. I Am the Lord and I am speaking to you. That is how you know Me and follow me. I will reveal My heart to every heart as I call them, and they will answer Me. No one who hears Me and comes to Me will be led astray.

So to all who are frustrated with the falsehoods we are being peppered with from the mouths of the self-proclaimed 'prophets' who do not hear Him, let not your heart be troubled as you stand before Him trusting Him. HE will call His Beloved and His Beloved whom He calls to Him will hear Him.

God's will for us is Christ Jesus, and He will be established in every heart He calls to Him! We will hear Him as He enters our heart and speaks to us. We will know Him as He calls us to Him.

this is so beautiful and such a testimony to the Lord's healing power and sanctification through our suffering. Much of my walk with Christ is similar to yours.
