Prayer Can Be Frustrating
By Margie Fleurant
Prayer can be frustrating when we don't see results, answers, or a response right away. We can fall into believing the lie that God, our Heavenly Father, isn't listening to us, that He
doesn't care. This is a lie from the enemy to sew seeds of doubt in your heart about God.
Your prayers are ALWAYS heard by God but we don't always see the answer quickly. There are many prayers I have
prayed over the years that I am still waiting on an answer for.
As cliché as it is - God's timing is not our timing. God knows the seasons and times for when each prayer get's answered because He
can see the bigger picture. Also, we have to remember that God's answer isn't always what we want to hear. It's like parenting - our kids come to us begging us to let them go certain places or do certain things but, as parents, our job is to see the bigger
picture to make good choices to guide our kids...this often means saying "no" because we see that something may not be good for them in the long run - even if they think it is the most important thing in the world at the moment.
Carrie Underwood has a song with the line, "I thank God I didn't get what I thought that I deserved". How often have we begged God to let a relationship work out only to realize it was abusive and toxic? How often have we begged God to get us a
job only for it to fall through and a better job opportunity come through?
Our prayers are ALWAYS heard and God cares about every request and petition we put before Him. It doesn't mean we will always
get the answer we want but we have to remember that God knows better and can see further out than we can.
Trust in God.
Put your hope in Him.
Your prayers are important.
