If God is for me . . . who can be against me?

The Lord’s Presence

By Kathy Mote

The Lord's presence in my heart has replaced my pride of life. Though this came by way of deep surrender, His presence is His greatest gift.

But in the moment, surrender is hard. It is the act of accepting His will for you before you know what His will is. It is giving Him your life before you see what He will do with it. It is how your heart and your hands are emptied before you can be filled. To call Him Lord is humbling. You have to see Him to respond to Him.

So when He asks for your consent to do with you what He wills, you don't feel this deep joy at what that might be, you feel the deepest loss of self. It is in His presence that you see how utterly vain the pride of life in your heart is. Only after you give Him your heart do you see how powerful His ability to give Life is.

I'm not talking about the prayer you pray to ask Him into your heart. I'm referring to what happens when He moves in! What He is asking of you when He asks you to surrender to His will is to be Lord of your life and what you will become.

In my own moments of surrender, I learned how deeply you are able to surrender your heart is measured by how intimately you know Him. Surrender only happens in His presence. It is your response to Him. This is close and personal and it goes deep. You literally give Him who you are. It is how you trust Him with what will become of you for He is the Giver of Life. Now you see how silly it is to hang onto your life. In His presence, you give it to Him. That is how you call Him Lord.

To know Him face to face like this is to realize He is more precious to you than your life. In all that I have spoken here, I have not once said I know what He will do with my life. That is up to Him, and He hasn't finished me yet.

Love Should Start

By Kathy Mote

Love should start with respecting what God is doing in other people's lives. God is love, and He should be in on every relationship.

When He Said

When He said we are the salt and the Light, He referred to His presence in our surrendered heart.

Please Forgive Me

By Kathy Mote

Please forgive me if this is hard to hear, but this is what I hear the Lord say. The notion that we are here to interpret scripture is arrogance. The thinking that we can know Him by reading scripture is ignorance. He is bigger than this. We know Him by Him entering our heart as we accept Him into our heart as Lord. That is what He has offered us. In HIM is the Life that is given to us.

I’d Like To Share

By Kathy Mote

I'd like to share what the Lord taught me about the trials we face in this life. Out of respect for where your heart may be, in this post, I will say my trials, not yours.

My trials bring me before Him. To survive any trial, I seek His face to know His heart. This means I want to know what He thinks of my trial, which is different than wanting my trial to end. I'd rather know the point.

I guess this means I don't agree with the modern-day church's prosperity gospel. I always thought it was carnal, myself. They misinterpret the scriptures, not desiring to know Him or the intent of His heart, and they assume He will give them their carnal desires and life instead of His.

So while those without Him have been wanting their life, He has been rearranging my life to give me His. He has brought His will upon my life and this has brought me running to Him. To remain in His presence, I had to accept His heart.

He once told me, Heaven is where I AM. So the trials that brought me to Him broken are my slice of Heaven, the place in His presence I come to accept His heart and be filled.

While so many in today's church are teaching a self-serving gospel, I have been accepting a ruined life. As they seek and declare the desires of their heart, He has become the desire of mine. In all things, my heart is broken to know Him just as His was broken to bring me to Him.

I wouldn't trade one moment of my life, for as broken as it has been, in it He healed my heart. I see His hand in everything that concerns me, and I would never go back to what I was without Him.

What People Say

By Kathy Mote

What people say and what they mean are often not the same thing. That's why we listen to Him. He keeps us safe as we do.

I’d Like To Share

By Kathy Mote

I'd like to share something the Lord showed me. Before we are even born, He imprints on us. He picks us up and smiles into our little spirit man that will be our heart, so that when we get here, we know to follow our desire to Him. When we hear His voice as He speaks to our heart, we know and recognize Him. He knew us before we were formed in our mother's womb, and He calls us to return to Him.

The Heart Posture

By Kathy Mote

The heart posture He desires us to have is to keep our eyes on Him in all things. He delivers you as you give your heart to Him. As He reveals the desire of His heart, that is what you desire to be.

This teaches you to trust Him, and even as He is humbling those around you, your heart is humble before Him. This is new, to see those who were once used to humble us being humbled as we are being set free, and to keep us in His presence, He is anchoring our heart to Him.

The only way to walk in the desire of His heart is to keep your heart set on Him. We are being brought into a far sweeter communion than our heart has ever known. We are going deeper than we have ever gone into the desire of His heart as we learn that to be humble is to desire and receive Him.

And this is the desire of His heart, to give us Life as He brings us into Him. It is His presence that makes us free. The deliverance we are experiencing is Him moving in our heart, and embracing Him is how we receive.

But this is shaking up those around us. They don't know what to think. They are losing their ground, shaken that they are losing their hold on our life. This is the Lord moving in their heart as He begins to secure their release.

This brings discredit to the notion that we are here to deliver and minister to each other. We are not here to be one with each other, we are here to be made one with Him, and that is actually how we will leave this place. We are being lifted up and out of all the things that keep us from Him. They will no longer stand in His way.
