If God is for me . . . who can be against me?

Not on my watch . . .

Not on My Watch!

By Dana Jarvis

David took out the Lion and the Bear that they would not kill the Sheep. He was pretty much saying, “Not On My Watch!”

Though you may face Lions, tigers or even Bears, you will not be distracted by them. The LORD is your Shepherd! You shall not want!

•Refuse to be unsettled!

•Refuse to be nervous!

•Refuse to be uncertain!

•Refuse to be insecure!

•Refuse to worry and let the enemy back you in a corner!

He makes you to lie down in green pastures.

To a Sheep, green grass is prosperity. To Sheep, green grass is abundance.God wants you to rest in what He has put you in.

He brought you into green pastures. He moved you from here to there. He uprooted you to put you in a place where the grass was green and you still pacing the floor, with worry and anxiety, you are still nervous.

“Lay down! Lay down! Lay down!” God is saying, lay down in His Love. Lay down in His Rest. Lay down in His Peace.

He leads you beside the Still Waters — not raging waters — as He Knows what the load is you carry. Drink from those Still Waters.

He restoreth my soul. The only reason we don’t lose our minds, the only reason we don’t sink in a river of depression and you never know which day it is, you just keep on walking in pain, and then comes that one day, you walk into Restoration.

Your cup shall run over and you will be caught in the overflow. You then go from the place of, “My cup runneth over,” and talking about being led, and being blessed, and the paths of righteousness, to, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death”.

Convicts in David’s day, men who were on the run, hid in the wilderness. But if they could find a shepherd’s tent, the shepherd would take them in and feed them. And all of a sudden, though they had walked through the valley of the shadow of death, though they were guilty and pursued for persecution, they found a shepherd in the wilderness…

Though you have walked through the valley of the shadow of death, you don’t have to fear any evil because you have that Shepherd in the wilderness.

“His rod and his staff, shall comfort you…” The rod shall beat away the wolf. The staff reels in the Sheep. He will prepare that table before you in the presence of your enemies.

He anoints your head with oil. The Father is anointing you with fresh oil. That oil shall be the snake repellant. And know that you know that goodness and mercy will surely, it will surely follow you all the days of your life.

The LORD sees where you are and the chaos that has come around you, but He is saying, “Not on My Watch!”

That Wall of Fire is around you! Your Vindicator is coming!

He was on the cross for hours. He was beaten, bloodied and bruised. He did not go down.

He was mocked and betrayed. He had a legion of angels at his beck and call. But his Great Project was YOU.

So, He did not go down.

For that prodigal or estranged husband or child, for that one soul trapped in addiction, for the broken and wounded one, for the special friend and friendship the devil is trying to break into, for any situation that you may be in middle of right now, the devil may be yelling, “Give up, this is mine!”

Roar back in his face and let him know this one thing, ” Not on My Watch!”

The LORD the Shepherd of His People

A Psalm of David.

“The LORD is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
3 He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I willdwell in the house of The LORD
Psalm 23:1-6.
