When Someone Argues

By Kathy Mote

When someone argues, they are judging what you said. If their behavior provokes you, you have a choice to make. You can remain in the Lord's presence, content in your obedience to Him or you can be shaken and turn away to respond to them. When you react to someone else's strife, you fall into strife yourself.

I'd like to share what I learned about arguing and strife. When you answer someone who argues, you are arguing yourself. As you detest the detestable (pride) you express that same thing. You will not soften someone else's heart by proving a point. The only safeguard against strife is to honor your place in the Lord's heart. He's got you, He's got them, and you don't need to argue about what they think.

Something I learned at great cost is people usually argue when their heart is bitter. They will rebel against what the Spirit says out of pride, thinking they know better, or resentment because they feel left out. There are some who will argue out of ignorance, but they only argue because they choke on the seed He is planting Himself.

Whatever is happening in their heart, it is not possible to fellowship with those who argue what they know of God out of pride. If they honored His presence in their heart, they would not argue or strive. Speaking to them is like walking through a mine field and it is nearly always a wrong choice. There is no wisdom in it, and there is nothing to be gained.

So I offer this, but I give no advice. Consider your own heart before you answer someone who speaks from pride. If you feel provoked enough to answer them, you are falling into the same trap, and doing the same thing.

We are all learning to turn away and not take the bait or be provoked. We do not answer to those who rail against the Lord, and we give strife no place in our own heart. He jealously and fiercely protects our heart to keep us with Him.

We Have Come To The Place

By Kathy Mote

We have come to the place where we do not know how to walk in what the Lord would reveal in us. We don't understand what He means when He speaks to us and we don't even know the difference.

At this point, our logic and thinking are failing us, but He will not fail us. As He spoke to me of the things to come, I was at a loss. What He will reveal in us, we have no idea of and cannot imagine. He is making us a Spirit being. (We are already a human being…)

As His Spirit pressed my heart to yield deeper, I felt almost desperate. This is a depth of surrender my heart could not, until today, begin to fathom. To remain in His presence, I am totally dependent on Him. As His Spirit travailed in me, I realized I don't even know how to cooperate!

But as I accepted that I could not understand much less walk in what He is wanting to see in me, I trusted Him, and His presence in me shifted. He doesn't answer to me, I answer to Him. I'm the one being created.

I now walk in something I can't describe. It is faith, hope, surrender, relief, expectation and deeply felt gratitude for being humbled so that I might trust Him like a child. He said, I will never leave you, I promise. This emptied-of-self gift of humility will never leave me, and because of it, I will never leave Him, no matter what glory is poured out.

Quoting Scriptures

Quoting Scriptures isn't declaring the Word of God, being changed by Christ Jesus is.

You Will Never Experience . . .

By Kathy Mote

You will never experience anything by reading about it. The Life God promised you is in Christ, and you will only be made alive by Him filling you. All you will know by reading about Him is what you can imagine, and you cannot imagine Him.

I Remember

By Kathy Mote

I remember my grandmother sitting at her kitchen table, her Bible in front of her, the sun shining warm, buttery light through the window. She lived in the presence of the Lord. She lived for the presence of the Lord and He was always with her. When you were in her home, you could feel the peace of His presence all around her.

She always said the Lord can do anything. But in her life, He didn't. He didn't because it wasn't time for Him to be seen like that. He held her in the palm of His mighty hand, and though she believed Him, He never revealed He was the God of mighty miracles. She lived her life waiting for Him.

Now I sit at my kitchen table, hearing Him speak to me. He shakes me and the world around me. In my life, He reveals that He is the God of mighty miracles, and I bow before Him as He holds me on the palm of His hand.

The difference between her life and mine is His timing for all of creation and He told me so. I am sharing this to say to His precious ones, as you wait for Him to reveal His presence in a powerful way, He is moving and shaking your heart and your life and He isn't anywhere near finished revealing His heart to you.

He will bring you into His presence to know His heart. He is powerful and He will shake you, and yes, you will be humbled as you feel a deep yearning for Him. That is why the Remnant say they are undone. They are being humbled. In all of recorded history everyone who heard His voice were humbled before Him.

This generation will not will rise up and declare what we think of Him without the knowledge of Him, we are the generation who will know Him. We will hear His voice and see His face, and because it is His time, we will be filled with the knowledge of Him. He said that you who wait for Him have no idea how your trust blesses Him. He greatly desires to bring us out of the place we have been in.
