If God is for me . . . who can be against me?

I Recently Heard Someone Say

By Kathy Mote

I recently heard someone say they were 'practicing' His presence. I was so shocked and dismayed, I was disgusted. I thought, who on earth would even think of something like that? The Holy Spirit said, Someone who is not in His presence and doesn't know the difference.

The Lord is revealing much of His heart these days. He is also guarding the knowledge of His heart from those who would make a religion of it. He won't allow them to defile themselves. The religion man would practice is something done without Him, and as they do, their heart is far from Him.

The reason I am sharing is to encourage all who share the Truth only to be amazed that almost no one cares to listen. This is what is happening. To put it bluntly, He is melting them into a little puddle that truly wants Him before they can be given the opportunity to try to 'practice' His heart without Him.

That is the reason for all you see in the world today. The Lord is refining every heart. But I don't think we truly realize just what that means, or that He is causing the shaking we see. To refine means to melt down at high heat to separate bare elements, and then to take up the oil that rises to the top. As He is having His way in all things, we can stand in our place before Him and trust Him.

I’m Not Sure I Will Be Able To Say This Right

By Kathy Mote

I'm not sure I will be able to say this right, but here is what I know, and I know it deeply as I surrender where my own heart is before Him in the midst of all that is happening.

To bite and fight and and kick and scream as we rage against all that is happening is to judge all that is happening. We do this because we do not know that His will is being served in all that is happening. We also don't realize that what He is doing in the world is not what He is doing in us at the moment.

What we should do is keep our heart before Him and truly trust Him to keep us in all that is happening. That depth of trust takes surrender, not understanding.

Walking By Our Common Sense

By Kathy Mote

Walking by our common sense is not the greatest wisdom. It is to walk without Him, not desiring Him enough to hear Him. It means to navigate every moment by what we desire instead of trusting Him. I'd like to share what He taught me about this.

As I sat down to dinner one night, I had before me a lovely dinner salad. It was a plate full of mixed greens with a broiled chicken breast on top with peppers onions and all manner of delightful things a rabbit would enjoy.

Halfway through my meal, with a bite on my fork, the Lord said, Don't eat that. I put my fork down. In my heart I didn't care about anything but pleasing Him. Later He revealed to me that desiring Him instead of trusting my own desires is how I was able to listen to Him, and responding to His love for me is how I was able to obey Him.

I stood up and took my plate to the kitchen sink, and there under the kitchen light I saw a blob of black, tarry, rotted lettuce on my fork. I hadn't seen this when I was making my salad or when I was eating it.

He saved me from being harmed, or at least insulted, by my dinner.

He even filled my belly with what tasted like honey. I felt no emptiness or hunger till morning. I remembered the times in my life that I wasn't in the position to hear Him. I didn't know to desire Him, therefore I was not able to accept His love for me that enables me to obey Him.

In those days, I tasted no honey.

Obedience Is Done From The Heart

By Kathy Mote

Obedience is done from the heart. It is the expression of your heart. It is His heart in you, making you as He desires you to be.

We Weren’t Meant To Understand God

By Kathy Mote

We weren't meant to understand God as we consent to Him in our thinking. His ways are so much higher, we can't even perceive the difference. We were meant to know Him in our heart, and as He comes to us, opening our heart to Him is how we receive Him.

He sends His Spirit to fill us, and we are able to hear Him by His Spirit in us. We weren't meant to understand God, we were meant to understand what He says to us. It is in our heart that we were meant to receive Him, and it is His heart we understand as He reveals it to us.

His heart being revealed in our heart is how He begins to change us, and we surrender deep to hear Him. But we are doing so much more. We are honoring His presence as Lord in us. We are learning to stand before Him as He embraces us.

He is also correcting us. From the depths of our heart we will belong to Him and there will be nothing in us to take us from His presence. Every thought, every nuance of character that would grow up in us is being brought before Him, and taught to trust and honor Him.

It is His heart moving in us that reveals we are His children, and becoming as our Father desires is how we obey Him. Christ in us, the hope of glory is God's perfect will in us, and He isn't anywhere near finished creating His image in us.

*This picture is meant to illustrate that what He is doing in us is Life changingly beautiful as He brings us to Him. We are being filled and changed by Him, for He desires His children to be like Him.
