______...."This book of the law [the Word of God] shall not depart from [always be in] your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful [take heed] to do according to all that is written in it; for THEN you will make your way prosperous, and THEN you will have success".... Joshua 1:8 NASB

[pt. 1 of 16]

A Contrite Spirit

*____God takes no pleasure our repenting over and over again as though this were sufficient; rather does he wish to live in perpetual contrition. Only a spirit of this kind can equip us to detect and mourn immediately all disharmony with the Holy Spirit present in our conduct and deeds. The penitent spirit is very necessary, for despite the fact a person has been joined to the Lord to be one spirit, they are not forever afterwards infallible.

...."They also that err in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmur shall receive instruction".... Isaiah 29:24 ASV

____The spirit can err, even if it has not erred, the mind can be so confused [become overactive] as to paralyze it from executing the thought [impulses] of the spirit.

this is so beautiful and such a testimony to the Lord's healing power and sanctification through our suffering. Much of my walk with Christ is similar to yours.
