If God is for me . . . who can be against me?

My Tongue is the Pen of a Ready Writer . . .

Psalm 45:1 | Psalm 45, Psalms, King jesus

"My Tongue Is the Pen of a 'Ready' Writer"

By Patsy Southway

Last month (December 2021), God had been speaking to me about writing again and a 'next level' knowledge of the importance of His Word, with Bible reading and study. Then I kept hearing, "My tongue is the pen of a ready writer," which, to be honest, I thought was part of a poem! So I checked it out. It's from Psalm 45:1 and speaks of Jesus and His Bride, the Church. I'm sharing from four different translations below for better clarification:

"To the chief musician. Set to 'The Lilies.' A contemplation of the sons of Korah. A song of love. 'My heart is overflowing with a good theme; I recite my composition concerning the King, my tongue is a pen of a ready writer.'" (NKJV)

"For the director of music. To the tune of 'Lilies.' Of the sons of Korah. A maskil. A wedding song. 'My heart is stirred by a noble theme as I recite my verses for the King; my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer.'" (NIV)

"My heart bursts its banks, spilling beauty and goodness. I pour it out in a poem to the King, shaping the river into words." (MSG)

"For the pure and shining one, by the prophetic singers of Korah's clan. A contemplative song of instruction for the loved one. To the melody of 'Lilies.' 'My heart is on fire, boiling over with passion. Bubbling up within me are these beautiful lyrics as a lovely poem to be sung for the King. Like a river bursting its banks, I'm overflowing with words, spilling out into this sacred story.'" (TPT)

Two-Fold Revelation

So I spent some time contemplating these words and asking for revelation, which I understood to be two-fold:

1. When our hearts are filled with love for the King and it manifests as a passion for His Kingdom purposes, our mouths speak forth His heart as we pray, declaring and decreeing the word of God. We simply flow, like a river, with life-giving words. We become natural/supernatural evangelists!

2. As we speak, read and write Scripture, we absorb Him. The Word of God soaks into our hearts, our minds, our spirits and our very bones. We begin to KNOW that He is SO full of love for us, that despite what is happening in our lives personally, or the turmoil that the enemy of the Cross is sending out into the world, we can use His governmental authority (which is in us) and SPEAK out what God says about any given situation.

'New Writings,' Spontaneous Songs & Family Gatherings

I saw many 'new writings' which I believe are fresh revelations from Heaven that have been kept until now, because we, as the Body of Christ, haven't been ready for them.

I heard spontaneous songs of the Spirit that were being sung over people, homes, gatherings, lands, and nations, releasing Heaven's JOY and HEALING.

I saw many, many gatherings, like cell groups, life groups, home groups and hubs.

Call them what you like, they were part of a FAMILY – HIS FAMILY – growing together, praying together, eating together; simply sharing life together and a natural 'bubbling over' of that life into their communities.

What Is the Father Doing?

We need to ask, "What is the Father saying? What is the Father doing?" Just as Jesus did, we need to do likewise.

"Jesus gave them this answer: 'Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by Himself; He can do only what He sees His Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.'" (John 5:19 NIV)

Psalm 91: Under God's Protection

Psalm 91 (which I have personalized, speaking and decreeing it over myself and my family every morning) is SO ingrained in me now that I BELIEVE it! No sickness, no disease, no weapon will prosper, BECAUSE I shelter – I live – under God's protection.

Vision of a Vast Army

Lastly, God reminded of a powerful encounter/open vision I received. I believe this particular one was in 2012 as I was ministering in the Czech Republic. During this open vision, I could see a vast army marching across Europe.

God asked me what I could see. I replied that I could see a vast army, but this army had no weapons, as in guns and knives. But as they marched, such was the presence of God IN them and WITH them (like iron filings to a magnet), people were drawn to them – desperate people! Friends, neighbors and family members came out on the streets, and without anyone touching them, they were made whole, healed; their minds set right, resulting in a HUGE harvest of souls coming into the Kingdom of God.

Are You Ready?

God has been making us ready. He's been preparing us for what is to come. He's been watching, too, to see how we respond to all that's going on. Do we really, I mean REALLY, believe God above all else? Is HE really our Savior? Is JESUS really Lord of our lives? These are serious questions, my friends, but they hold an ETERNAL consequence depending on our answers.

Will you and will I allow our tongues to be the pen of a ready writer? Will we allow Him to prepare us for our Bridegroom King? Will we trim our wicks and keep oil in our lamps? I pray that we do. I'm thankful that we are living in great days. As we soak in His Word, listen to His heart and release the Kingdom of God upon the earth, we will experience the greatest of times before His return! Glory!

this is so beautiful and such a testimony to the Lord's healing power and sanctification through our suffering. Much of my walk with Christ is similar to yours.
