Friends Are Sisters

By Kathy Mote

Friends are sisters who share the same heart.

I saw this and just had to share.

I Choose Him

By Kathy Mote

I choose Him above all things, but the 'all things' aren't outside my heart, they are within it. I choose His presence over everything else I desire. That makes HIM my heart's desire, and as I am wrapped in His protective arms, He provides for me.

I choose Him over my pride and my concern for myself as He asks me to surrender how He will fulfill all He promised. Who I am is His, all His, right down to my understanding of the things He has not revealed yet. Without surrender, I will never know them.

Our Knowledge

By Kathy Mote

Our knowledge of the Bible doesn't supersede, replace or override the living God. It's not His will for us to live by our knowledge of what is written. It is His will for us to live by His presence in our heart as we hear His voice and the Bible says that.

We do not judge Him by our carnal understanding as the Pharisees did. Knowing the scriptures isn't the same thing as knowing Him. For Him to accept you, you must accept Him.

Forty years of intensive study didn't give me a relationship with Him. Reading the Bible didn't allow me to know His love for me the way knowing His presence in my heart did. He spoke to me as He entered my heart and that is how I know Him.

He corrects my heart daily as He reveals His thoughts, His judgements and His ways. Without hearing His voice in my heart, I would not be able to respond to Him to obey. His presence in my heart is how I am changed. Accepting what He says to me is how I stand before Him. He is God. I do not judge Him.

The Lord Said

By Kathy Mote

The Lord said, I am tempering your heart. He is teaching me to trust what He is doing in all of creation, when what I want to do is understand. I had asked Him to draw me closer to Him to help me obey and this was His response.

Something shifted in my heart as I heard what He said. I am learning to accept His will on a minute to minute basis as He deals with my own heart. In His presence, I have let go of my need to understand as I learned instead to trust.

We have a tendency to understand the Bible and use our thoughts on what it might mean to draw the lines we expect Him to stay within.

One step out of line and we audit and censor Him and examine Him. We walk out of His presence and deny His voice if this is our heart.

This is quite a different heart posture than bowing before Him.

To remain in His presence, we hear and answer to Him. Humbly is how we respond to the living God as He is LORD of our heart. His offer to embrace us as His children is not a contract we interpret and hold Him to in our life.

I Wanted To Share Something

By Kathy Mote

I wanted to share something about the Lord. It will not be well received by those walking by their flesh. All the world seems to be walking with or without a Bible in their hand because that way, their life and their circumstance is something they can control.

What they know of God, they have read about Him and their relationship with Him is responding to what they know. They limit Him to what they understand and approve of. They will only know Him when He interacts with them, deep in their heart.

We do not know God by reading about other people's interactions with Him. We do not enter into relationship with Him by reading that He promised to fill us. He promised to BE in our hearts. He said we are to live by every word He speaks to our heart.

So let's not declare scripture over our circumstance to receive His will. That is not hearing what He would say to us and then trusting Him and responding to Him. We can hear His voice if we open our heart. He isn't limited to reenacting what He said thousands of years ago. What does that say for our life and our heart in our time now?

Let's do what He invited us to do and invite Him into our heart to hear His voice. He will speak of His presence in our own life. He will bring us into His presence and change our heart.

He is not coming back for a Bride He does not know. He is raising His Beloved by His intimate communion with her. After humbling her heart to prepare her for so long, she is beautiful to Him as He draws her into His arms.

this is so beautiful and such a testimony to the Lord's healing power and sanctification through our suffering. Much of my walk with Christ is similar to yours.
