FIRE BY NIGHT

By Glenn H. Jackson

"Reflections Upon Reflections" [of The Father's Heart]

...."You, in Your great compassion, did not forsake them in the wilderness; The pillar of cloud did not leave them by day, to guide them on their way, or the pillar of fire by night, to light for them the way in which they were to go".... Nehemiah 9:19 NASB

THE SPIRIT OF HOLINESS

Words of Prophecy:

*____How can one say that they are walking in "holiness" when they do not allow the "fullness" of the ministry of My Spirit [Who is the Spirit of Holiness] to work [manifest] in their life?

...."Your testimonies are very sure; holiness [apparent in separation from sin, with simple trust and hearty obedience] is becoming to Your house, O Lord, forever".... Psalms 93:5 The Amplified Translation

...."To grant us that we, being rescued from the hand of our enemies, might serve Him without fear, in holiness and righteousness before Him all our days".... Luke 1:74-75 NASB

...."Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, [by] perfecting holiness in the fear [reverence] of God [thus allowing Him to to expel {displace} every last ground of fear {unrighteousness}]".... 2 Corinthians 7:1 NASB

...."And have you [completely] forgotten the divine word of appeal and encouragement in which you are reasoned with and addressed as sons? 'My son, do not think lightly or scorn to submit to the correction and discipline of the Lord, nor lose courage and give up and faint when you are reproved or corrected by Him; For the Lord corrects and disciplines everyone whom He loves, and He punishes, even scourges, every son whom He accepts and welcomes to His heart and cherishes'.

You must submit to and endure [correction] for discipline; God is dealing with you as with sons. For what son is there whom his father does not [thus] train and correct and discipline? Now if you are exempt from correction and left without discipline in which all [of God's children] share, then you are illegitimate offspring and not true sons [at all]. [Prov. 3:11, 12.] Moreover, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us and we yielded [to them] and respected [them for training us]. Shall we not much more cheerfully submit to the Father of spirits and so [truly] live? For [our earthly fathers] disciplined us for only a short period of time and chastised us as seemed proper and good to them; but He disciplines us for our certain good, that we may become sharers in His own holiness.

For the time being no discipline brings joy, but seems grievous and painful; but afterwards it yields a peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it [a harvest of fruit which consists in righteousness - in conformity to God's will in purpose, thought, and action, resulting in right living and right standing with God]".... Hebrews 12:5-11 The Amplified Translation

____The only "power"[apart from total reliance upon the Holy Spirit - through an ongoing faith, love and obedience] that resides within one is the power [motivation]to serve themselves!

____...."For I know that nothing good dwells within me, that is, in my flesh. I can will what is right, but I cannot perform it. [I have the intention and urge to do what is right, but no power to carry it out.]".... Romans 7:18 The Amplified Translation

...."It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing".... John 6:63 NASB

...."Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples".... John 15:4-8 NASB

Prayer of Proclamation:

____Father, we thank You and praise You for the Holy Spirit - and ALL that He is to us in our steadfast pursuit of the "fullness" of our true Kingdom-position and destiny in Christ. Let us be found diligently seeking[day in and day out] to both hear His still, small Voice and act promptly on that which He reveals to our heart - to Your greatest Glory, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

this is so beautiful and such a testimony to the Lord's healing power and sanctification through our suffering. Much of my walk with Christ is similar to yours.
