If God is for me . . . who can be against me?

Take up your cross and follow Me . . .

What does it mean to TAKE UP YOUR CROSS?

By Pieter Kirstein

Matthew 10:38 And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.

It means that you go before God and you say to Him  -  "Jesus, I want to follow You wherever You lead.

I want to be Your sheep and You be the Shepherd of My life.

Use Me and raise me up for Your purposes and for Your glory and for the good of others.

Crucify the old sinner in me and bring me into the glory of the new creation, created after God in true righteousness and holiness.

Strip me and empty me of self and my own willful, stubborn ways and break my pride and my rebellion wherever I resist You, so I might truly be filled with the fullness of Christ.

Father take me through the discipleship, correction and discipline spoken of in Hebrews 12 until I manifest the fruits of righteousness, which is the life of Your Son worked out in me.

God cause me to hunger and thirst after righteousness and uproot the lustful carnal ways and desires of my flesh. Cause me to live like Mary constantly at Your feet, to drink from Your lips.

GOD SATURATE ME DAILY WITH MORE OF YOU UNTIL I EXPLODE FOR GOD BY THE POWER OF YOUR INDWELLING SPIRIT.

I pray that God brings me into the truth, the reality and fulfillment of Ephesians 4.

New King James Version

Ephesians 4:13-19,21-24 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

The New Man.

This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

this is so beautiful and such a testimony to the Lord's healing power and sanctification through our suffering. Much of my walk with Christ is similar to yours.
