MEDITATIONS ON THE TRUE CHRISTIAN LIFE

By Glenn H. Jackson

______...."This book of the law [the Word of God] shall not depart from [always be in] your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful [take heed] to do according to all that is written in it; for THEN you will make your way prosperous, and THEN you will have success".... Joshua 1:8 NASB

*____Romans 5:1, "Being therefore justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."

____Here we have peace with God instead of confusion from sin. This comes when we accept Christ as Savior and Lord, and receive Eternal Life.

____Philippians 4:7, "And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."

____Here is the peace of God.

____God's peace, God's holy quietness, comes into the heart of the new-born in Christ.

____It is a peace we cannot understand.

____Jesus is that peace.

____Ephesians 2:14, "For He is our peace."

____This is perhaps the greatest blessing that can come to the human heart.

____Peace means "utter quietness - rest.

____It is the rest of faith.

____We are no longer afraid of the Judgment, or of death, or of what man can do unto us.

____We are not afraid of Satan. We know that he is conquered. We know that we rule over him.

____We know that he, and his works, are beneath our feet in Christ.

____This is the peace that Jesus spoke of in John 14:27, "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give unto you."

____The disciples could not help but recognize how differently Jesus accepted the Cross and its suffering, than the thieves did that were crucified with Him.

____They could not help but notice how utterly quiet, and peaceful, and restful, He was in the Judgment Hall of Pilate.

____So, when He says, "My peace I leave with you" - at once our heart reaches out for it.

____We are surrounded by Pilate's judgment halls everywhere. The scourge of tongues, the bitterness of the world mind confronts us everywhere.

____We need this peace.

____John 16:33, "These things have I spoken unto you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."

this is so beautiful and such a testimony to the Lord's healing power and sanctification through our suffering. Much of my walk with Christ is similar to yours.
