"modern" - characteristic of present and recent time; contemporary;
"proverb" -
a wise saying or precept; a short, memorable, and often highly condensed saying embodying, especially with bold imagery, some commonplace fact or experience [in this case, the absolute Truth of God's Word];
[1]____There are no "shortcuts" when there is only one path.
____ ...."Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find

[2]____Be assured that there is nothing more intensely "practical" in any situation one enters into, than an
act of real [genuine] faith.
"genuine" - not counterfeit; authentic; real; free
from pretense, guile or hypocrisy;
____...."He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much [will

____...."we walk by faith [in
the reality of who Love {the Word of God} says we are, in Christ], not by sight [feelings, "sense knowledge"
- that which is "perceived" through the five physical senses {soul and body - as opposed to one's spirit}]".... 2 Corinthians 5:7 NASB
[3]____Narrow is the path that the Father has called His children to walk upon, but it is certain that each one of their steps shall be firm and sure - for
He shall order them.
____...."Enter through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and spacious and broad is the way that leads away to destruction, and
many are those who are entering through it. But the gate is narrow [contracted by pressure] and the way is straitened and compressed that leads away to life, and few are those who find it [Deut. 30:19; Jer. 21:8]".... Matthew 7:13-14 The Amplified Translation

[4]____The intense desire and determination to do "all" of the Father's Will is the secret of knowing [gaining
a revelation of] it.

[5]____Speaking wickedness" is any word that proceeds forth from a heart that is not given "wholly" to [aligned with] to the Father and His Word in the moment it was spoken.
____...."Then you will call, and the LORD will answer; You will cry, and He will
say, 'Here I am.' If you remove the yoke from your midst, the pointing of the finger and speaking wickedness”... Isaiah 58:9 NASB
____...."Let
NO [not even one] unwholesome [unrighteously motivated, self-seeking] word proceed from your mouth, but
ONLY such [a word] as is good for edification according to the need [of the moment,] so that it will give [impart] Grace [Life, Love, Truth, Wisdom,
Righteousness etc.] to those who hear[including oneself]"... Ephesians 4:29 NASB
[6]____The life of faith is a life of obedience.
"obedience" - receiving a revelation
of the Father's Will, and then carrying out that Will in the timing [unction] and power of the Holy Spirit - alone [through the continual exercising of an absolute
faith working through a perfect love];
____...."If you will listen diligently to the voice of the Lord your God, being watchful
to do all His commandments which I command you this day, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you if you heed [obey] the voice of the Lord your God".... Deuteronomy 28:1-2 The Amplified Translation
[7]____If one does not believe in their
heart [inner man] that what the Father "wills" is best for them then they, themselves, will attempt to formulate their "own" destiny.
____ ...."Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He
will direct and make straight and plain your paths".... Proverbs 3:5-6 The Amplified Translation
[8]____Practice the Presence of the Father
and His Word.
____...."He who has My commandments [gained a revelation of the Father's
Will] and keeps [remembers, exalts, honors, magnifies, does] them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and
I will love him and will disclose Myself to him ...."If anyone loves Me, he will keep [remember, exalt, honor, magnify, do] My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to
him and make Our abode [have living and ongoing communion] with him [in the "inner chamber"]".... John 14:21,

[9]____Man's own understanding and wisdom [and his self-esteem] are
the "poison" which will cause him to harden his heart against the Father and His Word.
____...."Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all

[10]____One never truly realizes that a certain thing is wrong until it is realized from the heart [in the light of the revelation of God's Word {Will}].

in the darkness for the upright, gracious, compassionate, and just [who are in right standing with God]".... Psalms 112:4 The Amplified Translation
____...."For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light".... Matthew 6:21-22

[11]____Maintaining close contact and intimate fellowship with the Father and His Word [Jesus] is the "safeguard" against self-exaltation in the ministry - and to the maintenance of being a pure channel and vessel of Their Love and Power.

[12]____The Father and Jesus [His Word] are infinitely more real than any "thoughts or feelings" which fluctuate through one's physical senses [sense knowledge and perception].
____...."we consider and look not to the things that are seen [the lower reality - that which is real to the five physical senses] but to the things that are unseen [through
faith in the higher Reality of God's Word]; for the things that are visible are temporal (brief and fleeting) [subject to change], but the things that are
invisible are deathless and everlasting [Eternal]".... 2 Corinthians 4:18 The Amplified Translation
