FIRE BY NIGHT

By Glenn H. Jackson

"Reflections Upon Reflections" [of The Father's Heart]

        ...."You, in Your great compassion, did not forsake them in the wilderness; The pillar of cloud did not leave them by day, to guide them on their way, or the pillar of fire by night, to light for them the way in which they were to go".... Nehemiah 9:19 NASB

"DO NOT LOVE THE WORLD"

Words of Prophecy:

*____When one allows themselves [through pride and self-seeking] to be bound by the "spirit of the world" [and the darkness that is its spontaneous fruit] their ability to discern from that place [as opposed to My Kingdom] is ALWAYS rooted and grounded in their "own" fears and concerns of how something or someone is negatively affecting their "own" agenda.

        ...."Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever".... 1 John 2:15-17 NASB

        ...."But, on the contrary, as the Scripture says, 'What eye has not seen and ear has not heard and has not entered into the heart of man, [all that] God has prepared (made and keeps ready) for those who love Him [who hold Him in affectionate reverence, promptly obeying Him and gratefully recognizing the benefits He has bestowed]. [Isa. 64:4; 65:17.]' Yet to us God has unveiled and revealed them by and through His Spirit, for the [Holy] Spirit searches diligently, exploring and examining everything, even sounding the profound and bottomless things of God [the divine counsels and things hidden and beyond man's scrutiny].

For what person perceives [knows and understands] what passes through a man's thoughts except the man's own spirit within him? Just so no one discerns [comes to know and comprehend] the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have not received the spirit [that belongs to] the world, but the [Holy] Spirit Who is from God, [given to us] that we might realize and comprehend and appreciate the gifts [of divine favor and blessing so freely and lavishly] bestowed on us by God. And we are setting these truths forth in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the [Holy] Spirit, combining and interpreting spiritual truths with spiritual language [to those who possess the Holy Spirit]. But the natural, nonspiritual man does not [recognize] accept or welcome or admit into his heart the gifts and teachings and revelations of the Spirit of God, for they are folly [meaningless nonsense] to him; and he is incapable of knowing them [of progressively recognizing, understanding, and becoming better acquainted with them] because they are spiritually discerned and estimated and appreciated.

But the spiritual man tries all things [he examines, investigates, inquires into, questions, and discerns all things], yet is himself to be put on trial and judged by no one [he can read the meaning of everything, but no one can properly discern or appraise or get an insight into him].

For who has known or understood the mind [the counsels and purposes] of the Lord so as to guide and instruct Him and give Him knowledge? But we have the mind of Christ (the Messiah) and do hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of His heart. [Isa. 40:13]".... 1 Corinthians 2:9-16 The Amplified Translation

____The Will [Word] of God is a "foreign" thing [which cannot be grasped or understood properly] to those who "dwell" in [have "heart-fellowship" with] the "world". The Will of God [a revelation of the Father's Will] has "preeminence" [is given first place on an ongoing basis] ONLY in the hearts of all those who are truly seeking first the establishment of His Kingdom in the earth.

"foreign" - strange or unfamiliar;

"grasp" - to seize upon; hold firmly; to comprehend; understand; one's power [capability] of seizing and holding;

____...."But seek [aim at and strive after] first of all His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right]".... Matthew 6:33 The Amplified Translation

____ ...."may it never be that I would boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world".... Galatians 6:14 NASB

        ...."See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ".... Colossians 2:8 NASB

        ...."Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord; seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust"..... 2 Peter 1:3-4 NASB

        ...."Pray, therefore, like this: Our Father Who is in heaven, hallowed [kept holy] be Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven".... Matthew 6:9-10 The Amplified Translation

Prayer of Proclamation:

____ Father, we thank You and praise You that You have raised us up a people who give Your  Will [Word] preeminence in ALL things - a successful and prosperous people who meditate in Your Word day and night with a view to carrying out Your highest purposes on every front. And we declare all of these things DONE in Jesus' Name, to Your greatest Glory. Amen.

       ...."This book of the law [the Word of God] shall not depart from [always be in] your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for THEN you will make your way prosperous, and THEN you will have success".... Joshua 1:8 NASB

this is so beautiful and such a testimony to the Lord's healing power and sanctification through our suffering. Much of my walk with Christ is similar to yours.
