One is found either leaning upon their "own" [soulish] understanding or My [spiritual] understanding in any given moment.

...."A fool does not delight in understanding [revelation, absolute Truth], but only in revealing his own mind".... Proverbs 18:2 NASB

...."the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth [the words He has spoken] come knowledge and understanding"..... Proverbs 2:6 NASB

...."Give me understanding, that I may observe [see] Your law [the reality of Your Word] and keep it with all my heart".... Psalm 119:34 NASB

...."The LORD by wisdom founded the earth, By understanding He established the heavens".... Proverbs 3:19 NASB THEREFORE

...."Forsake your folly and live, and proceed in the way of [spiritual] understanding".... Proverbs 9:6 NASB "folly" - the state or quality of being foolish; lack of understanding or sense; a foolish action, practice, idea, etc.; a costly and foolish undertaking;

...."Trust in the LORD with ALL your heart and do not lean on your own understanding [independent thought]. In ALL your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Do NOT be wise in your own eyes; Fear [reverence] the LORD and turn away from evil".... Proverbs 3:5-7 NAS
