REFINING

By Deborah Waldron Fry

I was inspired today to write about "Refining." Oh, what a word that is so misused and misunderstood. Abba Father wants you to know that  REFINING is a Spiritual and GOOD process. It does not hurt or harm you or bring you under condemnation. The word "refine" in Hebrew means to "FUSE; to MELT," Many years ago, in 1978, the Lord took me to heaven very briefly, but oh, how much He can show us in a short amount of time. Though this was over 40 years ago, it is just as vivid as though it were yesterday. I was in God's Presence. All around me was a bright glowing amber color, and I felt ALL my burdens lift off of me and I felt the most amazing LOVE and PERFECT PEACE and JOY. There are no earthly words to describe that feeling.

And I MELTED to my knees in the Presence of this Amazing Love. OHHH, Child of God, when God refines us, He is melting us with His Love. Everything not of Him falls off and is dissolved as we look to Jesus. We become One with Him when we are born again. And we are FUSED with Father God though Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. His Blood has made you whole and perfect. FUSE means "To join or blend to form a single entity, merge, blend into one, to blend thoroughly by or as if by melting together, to combine; Particles are fused to form a NEW compound." Amazing.

"Beloved. Religion would tell you I refine My Children through suffering, pain, hardships, and trials. Oh no, My Child. Hard times come because you live in a fallen world. But I have made a Way. Hardships are not your refiner. The Holy Spirit is your Refiner. He is the Fire of My Love. He is the Consuming Fire that fuses us into One. It is Resurrection Power that has melded us together forever. The Blood of the Lamb was shed so that we could be One in the Spirit. It is the Washing of My Word that seals us and cleanses you daily from the cares of this world.

"You have been made a NEW Creation.

By Grace you are saved and by Grace you are refined. He who knew no sin became sin that you are made the Righteousness of God in Christ. This is the Refining, Dear One. It is an ongoing process, that you would gain the victory in every area of your life. Though you go through trials, I will bring you through them. What the enemy means for evil, I turn for your good. I do not use sickness or death or destruction to refine you. The thief comes but to kill, steal, and destroy, I came to bring you LIFE and LIFE abundantly.

"You have read that you are tested, this is true, but it is a test of faith, that you learn to remain confident in My Love for you. That you would learn to be steadfast and unmoving, knowing that I have come to save you and always bring you the victory through the Lord Jesus Christ. My Saving Power is always at work in you. My Fire will burn away all that hinders you. You are being transformed from glory to greater glory. My church was born through Fire in the Upper Room. You are My Ekklesia, My Called Out Ones, consumed by the Fire of My Spirit.

"Your God is a Consuming Fire. My Fire is not painful to you but Glorious and Powerful and Life Changing! You are refined by My Love and the Spirit working in you and by the Washing of My Word! My Word will wash away all the doubt and fear and the lies of the devil. No longer let fear and condemnation come upon you. There is now therefore NO condemnation to those in Christ Jesus. This is the Refining Process of Greater Glory! Rejoice! You are being IGNITED by the Refiner's Fire as I MELT you in My Love!"

REFINE: Two Hebrew words have been translated "refine": "Tsaraph", literally, to "FUSE" (Zechariah 13:9; Isaiah 48:10; Malachi 3:2,3, etc.). "MELT" (Jeremiah 6:29 the King James Version); Zaqaq, literally, to "strain" or "sift." In the case of silver and gold the term probably referred to some washing process in connection with refining, as in Malachi 3:3 both tsaraph and zaqaq are used (1 Chronicles 28:18; 29:4; Job 28:1). The same word in Isaiah 25:6 referred to the straining of WINE. Greek puroo, in the passive, literally, "TO BE IGNITED," is translated "refined," in Revelation 1:15; 3:18.

Hebrews 10:14

"For by one offering He hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified."

In the preceding sentence there is another ‘for ever,’ which refers to the sacrifice of Christ, and declares its perpetual efficacy. It is one, the world’s sins are many, but the single sacrifice is more than all of them. It is a past act, but its consequences are eternal, and flow down through all the ages. The text explains wherein consists the perpetual efficacy of Christ’s sacrifice, and the reason why it needs no repetition while the world lasts. It endures for ever, because it has PERFECTED FOREVER them that are sanctified. No more need for a fresh sacrifice, since Christ has already, by the sacrifice once offered, brought in perfect sanctification for His believers. (Biblehub Commentaries)

Psalm 12:6 ESV

"The words of the Lord are pure words, like silver refined in a furnace on the ground, purified seven times.”

2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come."

this is so beautiful and such a testimony to the Lord's healing power and sanctification through our suffering. Much of my walk with Christ is similar to yours.
