His Spirit Without Measure"
By Michael Van Vlymen
I get very excited when I look around the Body of Christ today and see so many people hungry for God. Now, more than ever, I am seeing people
passionately learning how to hear God's voice more clearly, and see what the Father is doing.
"Then Jesus answered and said to them, 'Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father
do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.'" (John 5:19 NKJV)
The Glory of the Lord Rising
As dark as the world is getting around us (and it is getting darker), the remnant
is showing forth the glory of God, by God's grace. They are growing in the knowledge of Him and the light which (or Whom) they carry. That glory is spoken of in the book of Isaiah.
"For behold, the darkness shall cover
the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the LORD will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you." (Isaiah 60:2 NKJV)
As Believers, we are acutely aware that the glory of the Lord which we carry is powerful to
change the world, the nation and the people around us. I, as well as many others, have been seeking the Lord to reveal that which will cause us to walk in a greater glory than we have now. We have to have a demonstration of God's power to accompany the preaching
of the Gospel. So I asked the Lord, "What is the answer?”
"And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power..." (1 Corinthians 2:4 NKJV)
Walking in God's Power, Presence and Love
Recently, I had a very vivid dream where the Lord revealed the key to walking in God's power, presence and love. In the dream, I had taken my vehicle to the
repair shop for some much needed repairs. I asked the mechanic what the problem was and if he could indeed fix it. He said, "Yes. I can fix it, but it's going to be very expensive." He continued, "Your vehicle needs to be flushed out and new oil poured in.
You need eight barrels of fifty-five gallons each.”
I told him to do it. Before I could even process what was going on, huge hoses were attached to my vehicle, pouring in fresh oil. I woke up immediately knowing what
the Lord was saying to me.
The thing we need more than anything is the Holy Spirit. It is His indwelling presence that causes us to walk in the power of God so that we might fulfill our calling.
Lord also told me that the eight barrels represent a new beginning – a new anointing, if you will, that will exceed anything we have ever experienced before. The fifty-five gallons per barrel represent God's grace multiplied to accomplish these things
in our lives. We must depend upon Him.
"For He whom God has sent utters the words of God, for He gives the Spirit without measure." (John 3:34 ESV)
The Spirit Without Measure
We are not talking about a mere oil change here. Five quarts (still a number of grace) is not going to do it. We need the Spirit without measure. In my dream, the mechanic mentioned one other thing... he said it would be expensive. I have learned
what this means over the years, and I believe you have too.
This means we must be sold out to God; He must be our all in all. We have to choose to place everything on the altar. Literally, everything in our lives must come
under the Lordship of the Lord Jesus Christ if we are to carry that kind of oil.
Ask for it, believe for it and look for it with a passionate expectation!
The prophecy of Joel 2 is coming
to pass before our very eyes. It's time!
